ABSTRACT
Se presentan dos casos clínicos, el primero es un niño de un año y cinco meses de edad portador de un hemangioma labial superficial, y el segundo es una niña de cinco años de edad con un hemangioma nasal de tipo mixto. Ambos fueron tratados con láser de colorantes pulsado, obteniéndose una remisión de casi un 100 por ciento en el primer caso y superior al 70 por ciento en el segundo. Se revisa la literatura del tratamiento de los hemangiomas de la infancia con láser de colorantes pulsado.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of Nd: YAC laser on treatment of hemangiomas [n=30] and vascular malformations [n = 4]. A series of 27 patients [6 males and 21 females] with an age ranged from 4 months to 22 years were included. Most of patients [70.3%] were in their first year of life. Of the 30 hemangiomas, 13 were classified as capillary, 12 as cavernous, and 5 as mixed hemangiomas. Of the 34 vascular anomalies, 27 [70.6%] were located in the head and neck region. The indications for laser therapy were cosmetic disfigurement in 26 [76.5%], functional problems such as visual field defects and feeding difficulties in 6 [17. 6%], and ulceration or bleeding in 2 [5.9%] lesions. Our patients were subjected to 132 laser treatments utilizing both non-contact and contact techniques of laser beam application. Results were as follows: 64.7% lesions showed good response while 26. 5% demonstrated fair response. Bad response had occurred in 8.8% of lesions. Complications of laser therapy included excessive scarring in 2 [5.9%], ulceration in 3 [8.8%] and bleeding in 1[2.9%] case. These findings demonstrated that Nd: YAC laser therapy is a safe and effective treatment of vascular skin lesions that give satisfactory cosmetic and functional results without major side effects

Observou-se que os meios diagnósticos podem variar desde a Ultra-sonografia (USG) até a Ressonância Nuclear Magnética (RNM), e que para o tratamento pode-se adotar desde a conduta conservadora até o transplante hepático ou radioterapia local.

Os autores examinaram 48 mulheres irradiadas na regiäo mamária no período infantil a fim de estabelecer os efeitos dos tipos de radiaçöes e suas doses sobre o desenvolvimento da mama e da aréola, e as mudanças cutâneas devidas à irradiaçäo. Foram encontradas leves e graves disparidades de crescimento em mais de 50//dos casos, assim como mudanças cutâneas. Esses resultados parecem ser principalmente relacionados à posiçäo do hemangioma, ao tipo de irradiaçäo e dose total recebida. No entanto, a idade na época do tratamento e o tipo de hemangioma näo parecem influenciar o resultado sucessivo

Six cases of antral hemangioma were treated satisfactorily by 1000-3000 rads preoperative radiation followed 1-3 months later by excision through Caldwell-Luc approach. The quantity of blood-loss during operation was markedly reduced than by primary surgical resection only

78 cases of haemangioma in different sites were treated in the last five years in surgery and Radiotherapy departments in Mansuora University Hospital. They were 68 cases of skin and 10 cases were vertibral haemangioma. In the last complete neurologincal examination and radiological invistigation were done. Treatment method advocated was ethanolamin injection [46 cases], surgical excision with or without grafting [8 cases] and radiotherapy [24 cases]. The latter treatment was given either primarily or after lamenectomy and biopsy of the vertibral haemangioma. Most of the leases were followed up for two years and showed good response denoting the value of radiotherapy in the treatment of vertibral haemangioma in particular. Surgery and intralesional injection of sclerosing agent were also mentioned as lines of treatment of choisce in haemangioma affecting the skin
