ABSTRACT
Foram analisados em estudo retrospectivo 89 pacientes com hipótese diagnóstica de Síndrome de Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada, com o objetivo de descrever e analisar suas manifestaçöes clínicas e oculares. Sessenta e oito (76,4 por cento) pacientes eram do sexo feminino e 21 (23,6 por cento) do sexo masculino. A média de idade foi de 34 anos. Houve um predomínio da raça branca (59,6 p/cento). O envolvimento ocular foi bilateral em 100 p/cento dos casos. Doença do tipo I esteve presente em 25 pacientes (28,1 p/ cento), tipo II em 36 (40,4 p/cento) e tipo III em 28 (31,5 p/cento). No tipo I encontramos uma menor incidência de manifestaçöes neurológicas (p<0,01). Dentre as manifestaçöes extra-oculares a cefaléia (56,2 por cento), zumbido (41,6 por cento), hipoacusia (28,1 por cento) e alopecia

The aim of this study was to correlate the occurrence of Posner Schlossman syndrome in cases of mild cyclitis with the anatomical configuration of the angle of the anterior chamber. Six cases of Posner Schlossman syndrome were studied. The anatomic configuration of the angle of the anterior chamber on one side and the duration of the attack with the recurrence rate on the other side were analyzed. A relatively wide ciliary band in the angle of the anterior chamber was present in four cases with Posner Schlossman syndrome. Also the attacks were more frequent in patients with wide ciliary band than in those with a normal ciliary band. We found a correlation between the presence of wide ciliary band in the angle of the anterior chamber and the increased frequency of attack in four out of six patients with Posner Schlossman syndrome

Após análise dos possíveis mecanismos etiopatogênicos das duas doenças näo conseguiu-se formular uma hipótese para explicar sua ocorrência simultânea em nosso paciente. Lupus eritemaso sistêmico (LES) é uma doença mediada por imunocomplexos e pela produçäo anormal de anticorpos. Atinge principalmente mulheres jovens. Os sinais oculares mais frequentes säo: hemorragia superficial e manchas algodonosas na retina e edema de papila. No segmento anterior podem aparecer episclerite, conjuntivite, iridociclite, ceratite seca e ceratite epitelial punctata. Temos conhecimento de 2 casos de ceratopatia em faixa bilateral associado com LES na literatura, ambos em pacientes do sexo feminino e na terceira década de vida. No presente trabalho relatamos um caso singular de ceratopatia em faixa bilateral e iridociclite crônica em paciente feminina de 14 anos cujos sinais e sintomas sugeriram artrite reumatoide juvenil (ARJ) e que exames clínicos e laboratoriais realizados demonstraram ser LES
