ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: We investigated whether infantile vulvar abscesses are predictable features of rectovestibular fistula with a normal anus. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective analysis of five infants with vulvar abscesses and rectovestibular fistulae with normal anuses was performed. RESULTS: Four cases had a left vulvar abscess, and in one case the vulvar abscess was on the right side. All caregivers reported passage of stool from the vagina. The fistulae were almost uniformly located from the vestibule to the rectum above the anal dentate line, observable by visual inspection and probing under anesthesia. The first two cases were treated with division and closure of the fistulae after a diverting loop colostomy, and the remaining three cases with fistulotomy and curettage. There was no recurrence during the median follow-up period of 38 months. CONCLUSION: This unique rectovestibular fistula should be suspected in female infants with vulvar abscesses, especially when parents report passage of stool from the vagina. Fistulotomy and curettage may be an initial treatment and effective as a temporary diverting colostomy and delayed repair of the fistula.

ABSTRACT

Fibular Hemimelia is a rare congenital disorder of deficiency to complete absence of fibula. It has been associated with post axial skeletal anomalies like shortening of femur, absence of lateral rays of foot and syndactyle, polydactyle etc. We report this case because of associated amniotic constriction bands over both the forearm, suggesting amniotic bands may be one of the causal factors of Fibular Hemimelia due to insult to the growing limb bud.

ABSTRACT

A case report of congenital anorectal malformation in 21 years old female patient is presented who had history of passing urine and stools per vaginum since birth. Examination under anesthesia revealed absence of anal orifice. Ultrasonography reported a big gas filled mass in the lower abdomen. Barium contrast study was inconclusive. The diagnosis made was high anorectal malformation with big recto vaginal fistula

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

Duplications of the alimentary tract are of a great rarity, particularly so in the rectum. Because of its rarity, the difficulty of making a correct diagnosis and of selection of proper approach for treatment, this entity bears a special significance. The present case report deals with a female newborn who presented with imperforate anus and a rectovestibular fistula and a mass prolapsing at the introitus. Complete excision of the mass was carried out through the perineal approach and the child then underwent, a PSARP for the correction of the rectal anomaly. Histology confirmed the mass to be a rectal duplication.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

It's related the occurence of rare case of abscess ano-rectal which is localized anterior the anus simulating Bartholin's Abscess that was drained by the third part inferior of the right of the vulva. The diagnosis was established by Metylene Blue in infection though vulvar orifice at the time when bartolinectomy was being considered. the analysis of this case is important in order to enphosize the proctologic background in Bartholin's Abscess case wainlly if there is prolonged drainage over ten days. We consider the elements of the differential diagnosis and the behaviour of the gynecologyst in those cases
