Size and distribution of Pandarus satyrus (Copepoda: Pandaridae) on the blue shark Prionace glauca (Carcharhiniformes: Carcharhinidae) in Costa Rica

A total of 80 specimens of Pandarus satyrus, a cosmopolitan ectoparasitic copepod, were taken from fishery catches of blue sharks (Prionace glauca) in the Eastern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. All specimens were found in the dorsal surface of pectoral fins (8-30 per shark). Longer specimens were most abundant.

The presence of the sea leech, Stibarobdella macrothela (Schmarda, 1861) (Hirudinea, Piscicolidae), is marked in the south coast of Brazil, based on the single specimen with 67 mm (CT), collected in the intergill ventral region of a whaler shark, Carcharhinus brachyurus (Günther, 1870) (Chondrichtyes, Carcharhinidae), adult male with about 2 m (CT), being treated of the first registrations of S. macrothela in the Southwest Atlantic and the parasitic association with C. brachyurus

Description of a new species of the genus raphidascaroides Yamaguti 1941 from the sphyrna zigaena shark at Visakhapatnam India

Se describe una nueva especie del género raphidascaroides Yamaguti, 1941 obtenida del intestino del tiburón cabeza de martillo sphyrna zigaena. Los especímenes no concuerdan con la descripción de especies conocidas de dicho género. Raphidascaroides zigaenai queda establecida como nueva especie por el tamaño de su cuerpo, longitud de su esófago y apéndice esofágico, tamaño de las espículas, número y distribución de las papilas caudales, posición de la vulva y estructura de la extremidad caudal

Dasyrhynchus pacificus Robinson, 1965(Trypanorhyncha: dasyrhynchidae) description of the adult form

Um entre quatro espécimes de Carcharhinus brachyurus (Günther, 1860), coletados na costa sul brasileira, estava parasitado por cestóides pertencentes ao gênero Dasyrhynchus Pintner, 1928. Os espécimes foram identificados como D. pacificus Ribinson, 1965, sendo este o primeiro registo da ocorrência desta espécie no Brasil. Nesta oportunidade, é pela primeira vez apresentada a descriçäo da forma adulta, embora sem o proglotide grávido
