Ultrastructural study of glomus tumor.

The fine structure of five cases of glomus tumor was described. All of the cases showed a solid type, and the glomus cells were shown to be typical or modified smooth muscle cells. The authors' conclusion is that the glomus cells were not derived from pericytes, but from smooth muscle cells of vascular part of the glomus, and are thought to be a specialized smooth muscle cell tumor.

Sobre la ultraestructura del histiocitoma fibroso maligno: aporte de un caso / On the ultrastructure of malignant fibrous histiocytoma: a case is reported

Se presenta el estudio ultraestructural de un caso de histiocitoma fibroso maligno (por primera vez en la literatura médica cubana hasta el presente). Se hace una descripción de su cuadro microscópico, así com de los tipos celulares observados con el microscopio electrónico. Se comenta su posible origen común a partir de una célula mesenquimatosa menos diferenciada. Se recomienda la utilización del estudio ultraestructural en el diagnóstico diferencial con otros tumores malignos de partes blandas
