Deep endometriosis rarely entails ureteral involvement. It may be responsible of asymptomatic loss of renal function. A 35-year-old woman, gravida 1, para 1, was managed for peritoneal fibrosis due to deep infiltrating endometriosis. The nonspecific symptoms let a delayed diagnosis and a subsequent hydronephrosis. It must be excluded the existence of deep endometriosis in women of childbearing age with hydronephrosis of unknown etiology.

Retrocaval ureter is one of the rare congenital anomalies. We report a case of retrocaval ureter who presented with right lumbar pain, renal stone and hydronephrosis. The diagnosis was made on intravenous urography which showed typical "J" shape deformity in the proximal dilated ureter with moderate hydronephrosis. CT scan mapped out the course of ureter. The patient was operated and findings were confirmed. The ureter was transected near the pelvis, renal stone removed and a uretero-uretral anastomosis with anteriorisation of the ureter performed

The management of a young woman with a ureteric stricture is a challenge to the urologist. Genitourinary tuberculosis can cause ureteric strictures, with minimal symptoms. Untreated, it can lead to impairment of renal function. Diagnosis of genitourinary tuberculosis may be delayed until histopathological assessment. Drug treatment and reconstructive surgery produce good results.
