RESUMEN

Fluctuation in the homeostasis system is one of the main causes of heart attacks. There are contradectry reports regarding the effect of regular exercise, particularly resistance training on hemostasis indeces. This study was done to determine the effect of 8 weeks of resistance training on hemostasis indeces and lipid profile in adult men. In this clinical trail study, 16 adult men were randomly divided into interventional and control groups. Subjects in interventional group participated in a resistance training program including a period 3 days a week for 8 weeks session. Body mass index, level of fibrinogen, protrombin time [PT], partial thromboplastin time [PTT], platelet count, D-dimer fibrinolytic factor, Cholesterol, Triglyceride, HDL and LDL were measured for each subject. After 8 weeks of resistance training, the level of fibrinogen, PT, PTT and platelets count were significantly reduced and D-dimer fibrinolytic factor increased in interventional group in compared to controls [P<0.05]. Serum level of Cholesterol, Triglyceride, HDL and LDL had no significant change in interventional group in comparsion with the controls. Resistance training reduces hemostasis indeces in adult men

RESUMEN

Curriculum of higher education enjoys the special prominence as transferor of information. Also it provides field for making knowledge and obtaining skills and attitudes. Therefore the quality evaluation of curricula and their updating with regard to standards are considered. Purpose of this research is to develop and standardize the quality evaluation and accreditation indicators for curricula of baccalaureate degree for nursing education. This descriptive- study was performed in three stages during 2010 to 2011. In the first and second stages, criterion and indices drafts were prepared based on the existed sources and strained by nursing and curriculum specialists. In the third stage, in order to standardization and determining the weight of elements, criterion and indicators of 93 faculty members of nursing departments were selected through relative random sampling method. Also their viewpoints toward appropriateness of proposed criterion and indicators were obtained. This study was guided to the proposal of 9 elements, 39 criterion and 143 indicators for the quality evaluation and accreditation curricula of baccalaureate degree nursing education. In this study, criterion and indicators compiled for accreditation of curriculum of baccalaureate degree nursing education have several specifications including the observation of international standards of curriculum of baccalaureate degree nursing education, consideration to all curriculum elements, observation of curriculum rules, standardization and determining the weight of elements, criterion, and indicators

RESUMEN

Life- long learning is considered as a main outcome in education and the role of faculty is considered very important. This study was designed to introduce the characteristics and the role of academic members in the training of life- long learners in particular for Military Medical Courses. This study was conducted by utilizing qualitative method. In a purposive sampling twenty one professionals from Education Development Centers were interviewed. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis based on Krippendorff's approach. For data credibility and authentication, we conducted the peer check and external observer method. The obtained results indicated the following factors as important roles for a Faculty member: Facilitator and Mentorship, Role Model, having Competencies of Life-Long Learner, having Professional Competencies, Master of Specific Knowledge and having Tacit Knowledge. According to the important role of academic members, focusing on aimed empowerment necessary skills for academic member is suggested

RESUMEN

In nuclear medicine application often it is required to use computational methods for evaluation of organ absorbed dose. Monte Carlo simulation and phantoms have been used in many works before. The shape, size and volume in organs are varied, and this variation will produce error in dose calculation if no correction is applied. A computational framework for constructing individual phantom for dosimetry was performed on five liver CT scan data sets of Japanese normal individuals. The Zubal phantom was used as an original phantom to be adjusted by each individual data set. This registration was done by Spherical Harmonics [SH] and Thin-Plate Spline methods. Hausdorff distance was calculated for each case. Result of Hausdorff distance for five individual phantoms showed that before registration ranged from 140.9 to 192.1, and after registration it changed to 52.5 to 76.7. This was caused by index similarity ranged from%56.4 to%70.3. A new and automatic three-dimensional [3D] phantom construction approach was suggested for individual internal dosimetry simulation via Spherical Harmonics [SH] and Thin-Plate Spline methods. The results showed that the individual comparable phantom can be calculated with acceptable accuracy using geometric registration. This method could be used for race-specific statistical phantom modeling with major application in nuclear medicine for absorbed dose calculation
