RESUMEN

Chemical modification s of natural silk are thoroughly reviewed. A reaction of silk fibers with various epoxides either mono - or multifunctional is given. Study of the chemical modification of silk fibers with organic acids, anhydrides, organic solvents, different finishing agents, chitosan and metal salts are thoroughly investigated

RESUMEN

This review is given to illustrate and interpret some modifications acrylic fibers to attain better properties. Improvements of fire resistance, heat stability, dyeability, antimicrobial, moisture regain and conductivity properties are reported. Improvements of the aforementioned properties give the fibres an important position in the textile industry. The modified fibres became more convenient in different uses

RESUMEN

The effect of oxygen, argon and tetrafluoromethanc plasmas on the properties of nylon 6, nylon 66 and aramid fabrics are thoroughly reviewed. Morphological, mechanical and thermal properties of the treated fabrics were given. Dyeing improvement could be achieved and it was found to depend on the type of plasma used. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the surface characteristics of nylons were changed while the bulk properties were mainly maintained unchanged

RESUMEN

A general review on linen treatment with low temperature plasma of oxgyen and argon is given. The effect of using plasma on the surface morphology, physical and mechanical properties of the treated fibres is declared. Using combined plasma and enzyme treatments show a noticeable effect on some properties of linen
