So, the epidemiologic study done for 8 years at CMNR Tunis has shown that the incidence is 1,15%o births [between 0,52 and 1,66%o per year]. This anomaly is more frequent in Female sex [sex linked = 0,59]. The antenatal echographic diagnosis is efficient in 90,5%. This anomaly is more shown at low socio-economic group. The authors present 6 cases of nuchal cystic hygroma observed in still-born fetuses spontaneously or after termination of pregnancy. The prenatal diagnosis was realized in 3 cases between 16 and 24 weeks of gestation. The karyotype in one case showed a triploidy. In another case, the fetopathologic examination concluded in a probably XO Turner syndrome. An hydrops was present in two cases and other malformations was found in 4 observations. According to this results and a review of the literature, the authors insist on the importance of both fetopathologic examination and prenatal diagnosis in the diagnostic of cystic hygroma that often associated with chromosomal abnormalities
