RESUMEN
Twelve patients presented with hydatid disease; one in the spleen and the rest in the liver. They were presented in the period from December 1988 to March 1992. Their age ranged between 11 - 62 years. Two patients were undergone previous surgery for hydatid disease, one in the liver and one in the lung. Cysts were solitary in half of the patients. Conservative procedures were used in seven patients [partial pericystectomy] and two patients [subtotal pericystectomy]. Splenectomy was done for one patient and medical treatment with mebendazole for two patients and one patient no treatment
