RESUMEN

The clinical results of this study showed a significant reduction of the gingival index and plaque index [P < 0.05] in the subgingival irrigation group than mouth wash group. No other clinically significant differences could be observed with respect to Pocket depth and attachment level between both groups. Chlorhexidine irrigation as a monotherapy following periodontal surgeryresulted in a more favorable gingival condition as compared with mouth wash

RESUMEN

The purpose of the present investigation was to analyze the non-responding sites following surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapy. Non-responding sites was defined as surfaces showing 1.0 mm or more loss of probing attachment at 18 months compared to baseline. Sites treated surgically showing less number of non-responding sites [64 sites] than that treated with scaling and root planning alone [112 sites]. Increased depth of radiographic intraosseous defects was associated with more frequent probing attachment loss

RESUMEN

The effect of Anthraquinone Glycosides in combination with salicylic acid on periodontal condition was evaluated clinically and histologically. Patients were treated by the chemical agents once and three times per day. There was a clinical improvement in gingival condition while histological changes were noted in periodontal tissues. Further investigations are required for each component separately to determine which component had the delirious effect on gingival condition

RESUMEN

Bleeding on probing is an objective clinical sign of gingival inflammation. The purpose of this investigation was to correlate the histologic features of the gingival tissues with the different degrees of bleeding Time index. Forty five gingival sites from 15 male patients, subjected to periodontal surgery were assessed for the presence or absence of gingival bleeding. The results indicated that no apparent histologic differences between score 111 and 1V. In addition, variability of histologic changes associated with score11. This finding suggested that the gingival bleeding Time index is not a sensitive measure for the degree of gingival inflammation
