RESUMEN

A total of 300 samples of raw buffalo milk and soft cheese were collected from Giza, Beni-Swif and Fayoum governorates. The samples were analyzed for organochlorine pesticide residues. The results revealed high frequency for P, P'-DDT, p, p'-DDE and beta HCH. Chlordane and Endrin could not be detected in any of the analyzed samples. Soft cheese samples contained less residues than raw milk. The levels of organochlorine residues were compared with the acceptable limits of FAO/WHO [1996]. 6.3% of samples exceeded these limits
