RESUMEN

Patient MRG, 55 years old, female, with cervical pain 10 years ago. She developed in the last year worsening of the pain with irradiation to both arms. Submitted to a magnetic resonance image (MRI), it showed a non-communicating syringomyelia(nCS) C6C7 and a C5C6 cervical disc herniation. She refused the operation. It was accomplished with follow up by MRI one year later, which identified herniation regression and expressive reduction of the cavity dimensions. The clinical improvement with expressive image regression of the syringomyelia associated with reduction of the herniated disc is an indication of its association as etiological factor on the development of nCS.
