RESUMEN
Esta investigación tiene el objetivo de estudiar el grado de adaptabilidad y cohesión familiar además del apoyo social con que cuentan las personas homosexuales en la ciudad de Cochabamba. El estudio es descriptivo y de corte transversal. Los datos fueron tabulados y procesados por el método porcentual para cada categoría. La unidad de análisis es la persona homosexual. Se aplicaron los instrumentos de Medicina Familiar FACES III y DUKE UNC. Se realizaron 52 encuestas mediante entrevistas a personas homosexuales de diferente estrato social de la ciudad. Los resultados mostraron que en el 56% de estas personas, sus familias ignoran su orientación sexual. EI 61% cuenta con buen índice global de apoyo social. Solo el 35% responden que sus amistades pertenecen exclusivamente a su comunidad, de este porcentaje, el 65% brinda buen apoyo social. El apoyo social con que cuentan estas personas es independiente del conocimiento de la orientación sexual. El tipo de adaptabilidad familiar predominante es flexible. Desvinculada es el tipo de cohesión familiar predominante.
The investigation has the objective of studying the degree of adaptability and family cohesion besides the social support with which homosexual people count in the city of Cochabamba. Thís study has a descriptive design of traverse court. The data were tabulated and processed by the percentual method for each category. The analysis unit is the homosexual person. The Instruments of Family Medicine were applied: FACES III and DUKE UNC. We carried out 52 surveys through interviews to homosexuals from different social stratum of the city. The results shown that of 56% of these people, their families ignore their sexual orientation, of this result, 61% has good global index of social support. Only 35% responds that its friendships belong exclusively to its community, of this low percentage of friendships, 65% offers good social support. The social support with which these people count it is independent of the knowledge of the sexual orientation. The type of predominant family adaptability is flexible. Detached it is the type of predominant family cohesion.
