RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the safety and clinical efficacy of recombinant human endostatin injection (endostar) continuous pumping combine with chemotherapy injection in the treatment of advanced malignancies . Methods 156 patients with advanced cancer were divided into the chemotherapy group (78 cases) and the chemotherapy combined with endostar group (78 cases). The two groups were similar in the tumor types, the neoplasm staging, the KPS and the chemotherapy agents. After two cycles chemotherapy, the efficacy was evaluated according to RECIST criteria and the quality of life (QOL) was assessed by KPS scores. Results The objective response rate (RR) of the chemotherapy combined with endostar group was 39.74%(31/78). The RR of the chemotherapy group was 17.95%(14/78). There was statistics significance in the RRs of the two groups (P0.05), and all patients can tolerate. Conclusion The QOL of patients with advanced malignant tumors are improved by endostar combined with chemotherapy which is safe and effective. It is worthy further clinical observation.

RESUMEN

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) for achalasia. Methods A total of 40 achalasia patients who underwent POEM at our hospital were enrolled. The outcomes of Eckardt score,Barium contrast imaging, esophageal manometry as well as esophagogastroscopy were assessed before and at 6th day,1 month,3 months and 6 months after POEM respectively. Results All 40 patients successfully underwent POEM,with the mean operation time 57.2 ± 18.4 minutes.lntraoperative mediastinal and subcutaneous emphysema occurred on two patients. All patients had significant symptom relief after POEM (Eckardt score ≤ 3).The patients had a mean follow-up of 13.3 months. Two patients had symptom relapse, and treatment success rate (Eckardt score ≤3) was 90% in 6-month follow up.According to high-resolution manometry (HRM),the resting lower esophageal sphincter (LES) pressures were 30.6 and 15.8 mmHg (P =0.001),and intergrated relaxation pressure(IRPs) were 28.1 and 12.2 mmHg (P =0.000) before and after POEM,respectively. The diameter of the esophageal lumen was 4.2 cm and 3.1 cm before and after POEM (P<0.001).Conclusion POEM is safe and effective in a short term with less complications.Further follow-up studies are needed to evaluate long-term outcomes.

RESUMEN

Objective: To study the clinical efficacy of Jianpijiangniling combined with chemotherapy for advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC). Methods: A total of 129 patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group and the control group. All patients received four cycles of chemotherapy.Patients in the treatment group received concurrent four-cycle Jianpijiangniling therapy.Clinical curative effect, overall survival, quality of life, body weight, and side effects were analyzed. Results: No significant difference was found in the total efficiency between the two groups.Patients'quality of life and body weight in the treatment group were superior to those in the control group(P<0.05,P<0.01).Nausea and vomiting were more frequently seen in the control group than in the treatment group(P<0.05).No statistically significance was found in the rates of diarrhea, constipation, and other adverse effects between the two groups.Marrow suppression was frequently seen in the control group. The rates of leucopenia and decrease in hemoglobin were higher in the control group(P<0.05).The difference in the rate of thrombocytopenia between the two groups was not significant. Conclusion: Jianpijiangniling combined with chemotherapy is effective for advanced non small-cell lung cancer, with fewer side effects.

RESUMEN

Objective To explore the characteristics of intellectual impairment and event -related potential(ERP) in the elderly patients with asymptomatic cerebral infarction (ACI). Methods By using WAIS-RC and sensory event-related potential, VIQ, PIQ, FIQ, the latency of all the waves of ERP and the amplitude of P300 were measured in 53 elderly patients with ACI and 50 healthy controls. The 53 ACI patients were divided into a single-infarct cerebral lesion (30 cases) and multi-infarct cerebral lesion (23 cases). Results About 49.1%-58.5% of the patients with ACI showed some degrees of intelligence impairment, all score by WAIS-RC test was significantly lower in patients with ACI than that in healthy controls (P

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the changes of visual evoked potentials (VEP) in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Methods Pattern reversal checkerboard VEP and the unified Parkinson’s disease rating scale (UPDRS) were evaluated in 69 patients with PD and 61 healthy controls. The 69 patients and 61 healthy controls were divided into an aged group (≥60 years old) and a non aged group (0.05). Conclusions VEP reflected objectively the patients’ electrophysical changes of the visual pathway due to dopamine changes and it may be helpful in PD diagnosis.
