Conjunctival imprint technique for the diagnosis of ocular surface diseases

Fort seven patients with different ocular surface diseases were selected for conjunctival impression cytology. The cytological results showed that such test is an easy nonexpensive test that allows assessment of the condition of epithelial cells, number of goblet cells and any cellular reaction. It also proved that the impression technique can be used for the study of histochemistry of the various enzymatic activities
