RESUMEN

Background: Resilient individuals are usually able to maintain their physical and psychological health andhave the competence to recover quickly from stressful events. The present study provides insight intovulnerable segment of the population and helps to identify the factors contributing to their wellbeing &modifying them. Thus following this view, the objectives of the study was to examine the level of Resilienceand psychological wellbeing among orphan and non-orphan adolescents; and to examine the influence ofresilience on psychological wellbeing of orphan and non-orphan adolescentsMethodology: The participants were 30 orphan and 30 non-orphan adolescents (15 males & 15 females inboth group), aged 13-18 years and were administered Child and Youth Resilience Measure and Ryff’s multidimensional Psychological wellbeing scale.Results: The findings revealed that there is no significant difference in the level of Resilience among orphanand non-orphan adolescents where as there is significant difference in the Positive Relations with othersamong Orphan and Non orphan adolescents in the level of Psychological wellbeing. In relation to orphanadolescents, there is no significant influence of Resilience on psychological wellbeing of orphan adolescentswhereas among non-orphan adolescents there was significant influence of Resilience on psychologicalwellbeing.Conclusions: Further studies in diverse populations are warranted to ascertain the effects of Resilience onPsychological well being in adolescents.

RESUMEN

Virtual reality therapy came into existence in the mainstream of psychology in the last two decades.Virtual reality is a technology, a communication interface, and an artificial experience. VR has nowemerged as the promising tool in many domains of clinical care and research as the capacity of thistechnology creates controllable, multisensory, interactive 3D stimulus offering clinical assessment,intervention and training. Virtual reality therapy is a medium of in-vivo exposure therapy that is unreal butrelies on perceptual stimulation, visual cues, sounds, touch and smell to trigger emotions which is used forintegrating and enhancing actual therapeutic approaches. The unique value of this technology hascontinued to grow and advanced the clinical areas that have long been mired in the methods of the past.The aim of the present study is to emphasize the potential offered by Virtual Reality (VR) in clinicalpsychology and its advances in therapeutic uses, in the treatment of numerous anxiety disorders, sexualdysfunctions and also for children with disabilities, also discussing the clinical rationale
