RESUMEN
This study was carried out on a total number of forty individuals. Thirty prositive blood culture acute enteric fever cases were studied. The control group constituted ten normal subjects of matching age. The following laboratory investigations were carrried out Hb%, total leucocytic count, serum albumin, plasma iron, zinc, copper and magnesium. These investigations were done on the patients group during their acute illness, then in convalescence period. Results showed a significant decrease in the Hb%, serum albumin, plasma zinc, iron and level of total leucocytric count while plasma copper and magnesium were significantly increased. These changes were markedly noticed during acute attack. During convalescence, all these changes return to normal levels
