Assessmnet of anxiety and depression among hospital staff nurses: an exploratory study

The purpose of this study was : [1] To determine the anxiety and depression levels of nurses working in inpatient settings, and [2] to Compare the anxiety and depression levels among nurses working in two different specialties, namely medicine and surgery; in four different governmental settings. The Population of this study consisted of 141 staff nurses working in direct patient care. A questionnaire and self -rating scale were employed for data collection. The findings demonstrated that a significant difference existed between the levels of anxiety and depression among nurses working at Ras-El-Tien and Karmoz hospitals versus the two other hospitals
