Percepção de estudantes de enfermagem sobre o Laboratório de Enfermagem como estratégia de ensino / Nursing students' perception about the Nursing Laboratory as a teaching strategy / Percepción de estudiantes de enfermería sobre el Laboratorio de Enfermería como estrategia de enseñanza

Este estudo tem por objetivo conhecer a percepção de estudantes de enfermagem quanto aos aspectos físicos, pedagógicos e humanos referentes ao laboratório de enfermagem no processo ensino-aprendizagem. Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, transversal, não experimental. A pesquisa foi realizada com 85 alunos. Um total de 58,8 por cento dos alunos avaliou a estrutura física como ruim ou regular; já a acomodação foi avaliada por 50,6 por cento dos alunos como ruim e péssima. Quanto ao horário de funcionamento, 63,5 por cento dos alunos avaliaram como bom ou ótimo. Os alunos avaliaram positivamente as enfermeiras especialistas em laboratório e as monitoras com 87,0 por cento e 84,9 por cento de bom ou ótimo, respectivamente. A maioria dos aspectos obteve conceito bom, exceto a infra-estrutura física. O aspecto melhor avaliado foi o recurso humano.

The objective of this study is to get to know the nursing students' perception in terms of the physical, educational and human aspects of the nursing laboratory in the teaching-learning process. This is a quantitative, cross-sectional, non-experimental study. Participants were 85 students who answered to a questionnaire about the laboratory in regard to human resources, teaching resources, physical infrastructure, and accommodation and hours of operation. Regarding the physical infrastructure of the lab, the majority of students (58.8 percent) rated it as bad or average, and accommodation was rated between bad and extremely bad by 50.6 percent of the students. The lab working hours were rated from good to excellent by 63.5 percent of the students. The nursing specialists and monitors of the laboratory were positively rated by the students, with 87.0 percent and 84.9 percent rating them from good to excellent, respectively. According to the students, the best aspect of the laboratory was human resources.

Conocer la percepción de estudiantes de enfermería en cuanto a los aspectos físicos, pedagógicos y humanos referentes al laboratorio de enfermería en el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje. Se trata de un estudio cuantitativo, transversal, no experimental. La pesquisa fue realizada con 85 alumnos. En cuanto a la estructura física, el 58,8 por ciento de los alumnos la evaluó como mala o regular, las comodidades fueron malas o pésimas para 50,6 por ciento de los alumnos. Respecto al horario de funcionamiento, 63,5 por ciento de los alumnos lo evaluó como bueno u óptimo. Los alumnos evaluaron positivamente a las enfermeras especialistas en laboratorio y a las monitoras, con 87,0 por ciento y 84,9 por ciento para bueno y óptimo, respectivamente. La mayoría de los aspectos obtuvo buenos conceptos, excepto los relacionados con la infraestructura física. El aspecto mejor evaluado fue el recurso humano.

Avaliação da técnica de lavagem das mãos executada por alunos do Curso de Graduação em Enfermagem / Evaluation of the handwashing technique held by students from the nursing graduation course / Evaluación de los alumnos del curso de graduación de enfermería de la técnica de lavado de manos

O objetivo deste estudo foi comparar a execução e verificar a adesão à técnica de lavagem das mãos por alunos de um Curso de Graduação em Enfermagem. A pesquisa foi realizada com 113 alunos que estavam cumprindo estágio em instituições de saúde do município de São Paulo. Os dados foram coletados por observação direta utilizando um instrumento em forma de check-list com os passos da técnica. Os alunos do 2º e 3º ano obtiveram melhor desempenho na maioria dos passos na execução da técnica, com diferença estatisticamente significante, quando comparados ao 4º ano. A adesão aos passos da técnica pelos alunos foi muito baixa, pois apresentaram adesão menor que 50% em metade dos passos. A média de alunos que executou todos os passos da técnica corretamente foi muito baixa, 8,8%. Os alunos observados não realizaram a técnica de lavagem das mãos conforme recomendado.

The purpose of this study was to compare the execution and verify the compliance with the handwashing techniques by students in an undergraduate Nursing course. The study was performed with 113 students enrolled in internship programs in healthcare institutions in the city of São Paulo. Data collection occurred through direct observation, using a check-list instrument with the steps of the technique. Students in their 2nd and 3rd year had better results in most steps of the technique, with a statistically significant difference when compared to the 4th year. Compliance with the steps of the technique by the students was very low, since their compliance with half the handwashing steps was lower than 50%. The average amount of students who executed all the steps of the technique correctly was very low, 8.8%. The observed students did not execute the handwashing techniques according to the recommendations.

El objetivo de este estudio fue comparar la ejecución y verificar la adhesión a la técnica de lavado de las manos por alumnos de un Curso de Graduación en Enfermería. La investigación fue realizada con 113 alumnos que estaban realizando una práctica en instituciones de salud del municipio de San Pablo. Los datos fueron recolectados por observación directa utilizando un instrumento en forma de check-list con los pasos de la técnica. Los alumnos del 2º y 3º año obtuvieron un mejor desempeño en la mayoría de los pasos en la ejecución de la técnica, con una diferencia estadísticamente significativa, cuando comparados al 4º año. La adhesión a los pasos de la técnica por los alumnos fue muy baja, ya que presentaron una adhesión menor que 50% en la mitad de los pasos. El promedio de los alumnos que ejecutaron todos los pasos de la técnica correctamente fue muy baja, 8,8%. Los alumnos observados no realizaron la técnica de lavado de las manos conforme recomendado.

A lavagem das mãos é reconhecida como uma das medidas mais importantes para prevenir as Infecções Hospitalares. Este estudo teve como objetivo comparar a execução e verificar a adesão aos passos da técnica de lavagem das mãos por alunos dos 2º, 3º e 4º anos de um Curso de Graduação em Enfermagem. A amostra constituiu-se de 113 alunos que estavam cumprindo estágio em instituições de saúde do município de São Paulo. Os dados foram coletados por meio de observação direta para a qual foi utilizado um instrumento em forma de "check-list" com os passos da técnica de lavagem das mãos, conforme recomendação do Ministério da Saúde do Brasil. Os resultados foram estatisticamente trabalhados, permitindo constatar que: a) os alunos dos 2º e dos 3º anos obtiveram melhor desempenho na execução da técnica de lavagem das mãos, com diferença estatisticamente significante, quando comparados ao 4º ano nos passos da técnica: "retirou jóias", "esfregou palma com dorso", "esfregou espaços interdigitais", "esfregou polegar" e "esfregou unhas". Apenas no item "fechou a torneira com papel toalha" o 4º ano apresentou-se melhor que os 2º e 3º anos; b) a adesão aos passos da técnica de lavagem das mãos dos alunos de todos os anos do curso foi muito baixa, pois na metade dos passos que compõe a técnica, os alunos apresentaram adesão menor que 50%; c) A porcentagem de alunos que executou TODOS OS PASSOS da técnica de lavagem das mãos CORRETAMENTE foi muito baixa, apenas 8,8%.Concluiu-se que os alunos do 4º ano obtiveram o pior desempenho e adesão muito baixa em quase todos os passos da técnica de lavagem das mãos, quando comparados aos dos 2º e 3º anos.

Handwashing is known as one of the most important measures in preventing hospital-acquired Infections. This study had the objective of comparing the performance and verifying the adhesion of students from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years of the Graduation nursing course to the steps of this technique. The sample was made of 113 students who were under the internship program in health institutions in the city of Sao Paulo. The data were collected through unobtrusive observation based on an instrument in a check-list form with all the steps of the hands-washing technique, as suggested by the Brazilian Health Ministry. The results were statistically treated showing that: a) the students from the 2nd and 3rd years had better results in the execution of the handwashing technique, with a significant statistical difference, when compared to the students from the 4th year considering the steps: "jewelry-removing", "rubbed the palm of the hand with its back", "rubbed spaces between fingers", "rubbed thumb" and "rubbed nails". Considering the item "closing the faucet with a paper towel" the students from the 4th year were better than the ones from the second and third years; b) the students from all years of graduation the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years showed low adhesion to the hands-washing technique steps, once they presented the adhesion to less than 50% of the steps; c) The percentage of students who performed ALL THE STEPS of the handwashing technique CORRECTLY was very low,only 8.8%. It was concluded that the students from the 4th years in almost all had the worst performance and the lowest adhesion to the hands-washing technique when compared to the students from the 2nd and 3rd years.
