RESUMEN

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of different superovulatory regimens on embryo production of buffalo-cows in Egypt. Estrus synchronization applied on 16 multiparous Egyptian buffalo-cows divided randomize into three groups A [n=4], B [n=6] and C [n=6]. Only, thirteen buffalo cows responded in the three groups A [n=3]; B [n=4] and C [n=6]. The buffaloes showed estrus from the three groups were received a dose of 2500 IU of eCG on day 8 of the cycle. In group A [n=3] no, further superovulatory treatment was applied, whereas animals of group B [n=4] received a single dose of 2500 IU of hCG 30 h after AI. Buffaloes of group C [n=6] received the same regimen of group B in addition to i.m injection of 2.5 mg Estradiol benzoate [EB] and 50 mg progesterone [P4] 4 days before superovulatory treatments. Embryos were collected from all groups non-surgically during day 6 [around 140] h from estrus onset. The results reveals that there were a significance increase [P<0.05] for the number of corporalutea and collected embryos in group C than other treated groups. In conclusion, progesterone supplementation with estradiol benzoate 4 days before initiating the superovulation treatment seems to enhance the recovery rate in buffaloes. Further studies are needed in order to increase the number of embryos recovered per a buffalo female

RESUMEN

This study is one of many recent attempts that search for economic feed resources with the aim to improve reproductive efficiency of the local breeds of farm animals in Egypt. Thirty female Baladi goats were used in two experiments. In experiment 1, 12 immature females weighed 8-11 kg and aged 4-5 months were allotted into two groups: Control [n=4] fed on basal control ration and NSc group [n=8] fed on the same basal ration supplemented with 100 g Nigella sativa cake. All females were fed till maturity and run continuously with fertile bucks. Jagular blood samples were collected twice weekly for progesterone assay to detect sexual maturity, ovarian cyclicity, conception and pregnancy. The parameters of the reproductive characteristics in the pattern of continuous/total, lambed/continuous, conception, fertility and prolificacy were calculated. Initial and final body weights were individually recorded and body weight gain was calculated

RESUMEN

Active immunization against hormones is considered one of the best methods to investigate their effects. Six Barki rams were immunized against LH hormone [hCG, Pregnyl- Organon] which was emulsified with complete Fruend's adjuvant. Reproductive function of rams, testicular measurements, Semen parameters and testosterone level, were estimated before and for eight weeks after immunization. The results revealed that there is no significant effect on semen volume, minor and major sperm abnormalities. On the other hand, Duncan's Multiple Range test revealed differences in mass motility, individual motility, sperm concentration and live dead ratio. It was found that there was a gradual decrease in sperm concentration, live /sperm percent after immunization while total testicular circumference decreased gradually from the 1[st] to 5[th] week after immunization and then returned back to the normal circumferences during the 8[th] week after immunization

RESUMEN

Serum samples were collected from 100 women suffering from recurrent spontaneous albumen and their history of abortion ranged from 2 to 5 timesThe screening of collected sera against Treponema pallidum antigen by VDRL test revealed prevalence rate of 6% and using TPHA as confirmation gave a positive rate of 4% The collected sera were screened against CMV antigen by the IFA technique to detect the presence of IgM and IgG antibodies; the total percent of detected antibodies was 57% and IgM was present in 10%, while IgG in 47% Confirmation of the presence of these antibodies was performed using CF test which was positive in 30% of the studied patients
