RESUMEN
Twenty male rats were equally subdivided into control rats subjected to cutaneous rubbing of 1ml of distilled water daily on their shaved belly, and treated rats subjected to repeated cutaneous rubbing of 1ml of an antiperspirant 24 deodorant on their shaved belly, daily for 50 consecutive days. Blood samples were withdrawn from each rat at the end of exposure periods and equal aliquots of heparinized blood samples were prepared: the first was used for total and differential leukocytic count and pahgocytic activity assay, while plasma of the second aliquot was utilized for screening concentrations of plasma total protein, albumin and globulin. Rats were then scarified, 2 hours after colchicines injection [i.p.], and their femoral bone marrows were flushed out for the preparation of metaphase flushed out for the preparation of metaphase plates and cytogenetic analysis of bone marrow chromosomes. The obtained data revealed a significant increase in the frequencies of aberrant cells and different types of chromosomal aberrations in the bone marrow cells of treated rats. Blood neutrophil phagocytic activities, plasma total protein and globulin were distinctly decreased and moderate histopathological and histomorphometric alterations of belly skin of the treated rats were observed. The study throws the light on the dangerous cumulative effects of this antiperspirant on cytogenetic, immunological and histomorphological profiles in Rats

Antennal sensilla include sensilla trichodea [a and b], sensilla chaeticaand sensilla coeloconica. Proboscis sensilla include the apical region bearssensilla chaetica at its apex and rasp-like structure along its length, whilethe distal region bears two types of sensilla styloconica, among which arefound sensilla trichodea and sensilla chaetica. Tarsal sensilla include onetype of sensilla in the form of curved sensilla trichodea [b] on the differenttarsal segments and the pulvilli, that bear various sensilla includingmacrotrichodea, sensilla chaetica and chemoreceptor setae. The ovipositorlobes include bear sensilla in the form of sensilla trichodea [a and b] and 5-6macrotrichodea. The male copulatory organs [represented by two harps andanal papillae] bear different receptors in the form of sensilla trichodea [a],swelling sensilla trichodea and pheromonal receptor or peg sensilla on the twoharps, as well as numerous numbers of sensilla styloconica on the two analpapillae

This study was conducted on 100 male cyclists of the national team presented with different soft tissue injuries. Fifty of them were juniors [15-17 years], while the other fifty were seniors [17-30 years]. They were examined clinically after thorough medical history, generally and locally according to the site of injury with special tests of the involved parts to emphasize the diagnosis. The total number of injuries reported in the junior group was 65, while a total number of 75 was reported in the senior group with insignificant difference between both groups. The lower limbs were more commonly affected in both groups representing 61.5% of injuries in juniors and 66.7% of injuries in seniors, while injuries of the upper limbs comprised 23.1% and 20%, respectively. Involvement of the back represented 15.4% in juniors and 13.3% in seniors. Most injuries affected cyclists of the third level of performance capacity [37.2%]. Overuse or over training was reflected by the occurrence of most injuries at the end of season [49.2% of junior injuries and 36% of senior injuries] with a significant difference between both groups. Most soft tissue injuries in cyclists were chronic lesions with no definite history of trauma but due to repetitive microtraumata with their cumulative effects

In Egyptian top athletes and a control non athletes, some anthropometric, physical fitness and haematological measurements were carried upon, the results revealed that the top athletes had a lesser weight specially the gymnastic players and they had a longer standing height specially basket and volley ball players than in the non athletes. The physical fitness measurements were better among the top athletes than the control group, but the hand ball players had the least performance of endurance test, volley ball and gymnastic players had a lesser running speed while the hand ball players had a better grip strength than other top athletes. It was observed that red blood cell count and haemoglobin content of blood were much lower among top athletes than non athletes. These observed differences may be attributed to either the method of selection of subjects in various sports or the type of training they practice

Fifty liver samples [25 of each of camel and buffalo livers] were obtained from several butcher's shops, and subjected to microbiological analysis. The mean values of APC, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis and Coliform counts were 9 x 10 7, 4 x 10 7, 5 x 10 3, 4 x 10 3, 4 x 10 4, 5 x 10 3 and 2 x 10 3 in camel and buffalo livers, respectively. E. coli, Klebsiella aerogenes, Proteus species and Citrobacter freundii could be isolated in various percentages. Moreover, Clostridium sphenoides, Cl. histolyticum, Cl. tertium and Cl. putrefaciens were the most predominant anaerobes in both liver samples. The significant importance of the counts and the isolated organisms were discussed

One hundred women in the third trimester of pregnancy were hospitalized for five days, fifty normotensive and fifty with hypertensive disease. Their blood pressures were recorded every six hours. The serum levels of uric acid, fasting glucose, total proteins, alkaline phosphatase, SGOT and urea were determined. There was no significant difference in the diurnal variation in blood pressure in both the control and the hypertensive groups. The night variation was statistically insignificant in all cases. There was significant decrease in blood pressure after two days hospitalization in the controls, mild, moderate and severe hypertensive groups. Serum uric acid was significantly increased with the elevation of blood pressure. Alkaline phosphatase level, and urea nitrogen level showed insignificant increase in the severe hypertensive group. None of the other biochemical parameters determined showed any significant variation between the two studied groups
