Activation of intestinal mucosal TLR4/NF-κB pathway is associated with renal damage in mice with pseudo-sterile IgA nephropathy / 细胞与分子免疫学杂志

Objective To investigate the effect of intestinal mucosal Toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor κB (TLR4/NF-κB) signaling pathway on renal damage in pseudo-sterile IgA nephropathy (IgAN) mice. Methods C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into experimental group (pseudosterile mouse model group), control group (IgAN mouse model group), pseudosterile mouse blank group, and normal mouse blank group. Pseudosterile mice were established by intragastric administration of quadruple antibiotics once a day for 14 days. The pseudosterile IgAN mouse model was set up by combination of oral bovine serum albumin (BSA) administration and staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB) injection. The pathological changes of renal tissue were observed by immunofluorescence staining and PAS staining, and the intestinal mucosa barrier damage indicators lipopolysaccharide(LPS), soluble intercellular adhesion molecule 1(sICAM-1) and D-lactate(D-LAC) were analyzed by ELISA. Biochemical analysis was used to test 24 hour urine protein, serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen. The mRNA and protein levels of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88) and nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) were detected by reverse transcription PCR and Western blot analysis. Results The kidney damage of pseudosterile IgAN mice was more severe than that of IgAN mice, and the expressions of intestinal mucosal barrier damage markers (LPS, sICAM-1 and D-LAC) were significantly increased in pseudosterile IgAN mice. In addition, the expressions of TLR4, MyD88, and NF-κB level were all up-regulated in the intestinal tissues of IgAN pseudosterile mice. Conclusion Intestinal flora disturbance leads to intestinal mucosal barrier damage and induces activation of TLR4 signaling pathway to mediate renal injury in IgAN.

Knowledge-attitude-practice of chronic kidney disease among type 2 diabetic patients in a township of Shanghai suburb / 中华全科医师杂志

A total of 510 patients with type 2 diabetics mellitus (T2DM)from Huacao Township of Shanghai suburb were enrolled in the study. The gender, age, duration for diabetes, HbA1c level, blood pressure level, obesity status and health education of chronic kidney disease (CKD) were recorded. The knowledge, attitude and practice (AKP) of the subjects regarding prevention and treatment of CKD were assessed by using a self-restraint questionnaire. The data were analyzed with logistic regression. The knowledge awareness rate, attitude positive rate and behavior execution rate were 44.1％(225/510), 49.0％(250/510) and 16.5％(84/510), respectively. Scores of knowledge,attitude,behavior and medication compliance of the subjects were 16.8 ± 4.8, 18.3 ± 3.6 and 13.1 ± 4.1, respectively. The attitudes were closely related to educational level, HbA1c level, systolic blood pressure, obesity, health education history, and awareness level of CKD;behaviors were closely related to education level, systolic blood pressure, obesity, health education history and CKD prevention and treatment(P<0.05).

Research on the diagnostic value of 18G and 16G needle ultrasound-guided breast biopsy / 中国医学装备

Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic value of 18G and 16G needle biopsy of breast lesions.Methods: Onr hundred and fifteen patients with breast lesions those were excised through surgery. Each lesion was under ultrasound-guided needle biopsy(US-CNB) with 18G and 16G, then underwent surgical resection of mass and pathological histology. Histological findings of US-CNB and the surgical specimens were analyzed for sensitivities, false negative rates, and underestimate rates.Results: Among 84 cases of breast cancer proved by surgical pathology, the sensitivity, specificity, false negative rate of 18G and 16G biopsy diagnosis were followed by 95.2% and 97.6%, 89.6% and 94.3%, 4.8% and 2.4%. Paired chi-square test showed no significant difference between the two methods.Conclusion: 18G and 16G needle biopsy has no significant difference in the diagnosis of breast lesions.

Component Analysis of Essential Oil Extracted with Supercritical CO_2 from Eucalyptus tereticornis by GC-MS / 中国药房

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the chemical components extracted with supercritical CO2(SFE-CO2)from Eucalyptus tereticornis.METHODS: Volatile oil was extracted from E.tereticornis with SFE-CO2.The chemical component analyzed by GC-MS and its proportion was determined by normalization method.RESULTS: 28 compounds which account for 88.13% of the total peak area were separated and identified.The main components of volatile oil were eucalyptol (33.99%),borneol(8.88%),?-pinene (5.39%),caryophyllene (4.51%),(+)-4-carene (4.19%).CONCLUSION:This study can be served as a scientific basis for the further exploitation and utilization of E.tereticornis.
