RESUMEN

Methamphetamine abuse and HIV infection are extremely serious public health and social problems facing the world today. Methamphetamine and HIV-1 Tat protein can induce neurotoxicity in an individual and synergistic way, and neuroinflammation is one of the most important mechanisms for ca-using neurotoxicity. Neuroinflammation can be mediated by glial cells, cytokines, NLRP3 inflammasomes, etc. This paper reviews the research progress of neuroinflammation induced by methamphetamine and HIV-1 Tat protein in recent years, with the aim of providing reference and basis for further exploration of the mechanisms of neuroinflammation caused by them and effective drug intervention targets in the future.

RESUMEN

To investigate the changes of vedionystamography(VNG)in patients with posterior circulation ischemia vertigo(PCIV).Fifty patients who complained of vertigo and imbalance with PCI were selected as experimental group for testing of visual nystamography(VNG).Thirty normal subjects were chosen as control group. The result was analyzed. The results of VNG in PCIV group and the control group were compared. The abnormal ratio were as follows:(4%,0;>0.05)for Spontaneous nystagmus,(68%,10%;<0.01)for Saccade Test,(42.0%,6.7%;<0.01)for Tracking Test,(44%,0;<0.01)for Optokinetic Test,(78%,10%;<0.01)for Positional Test, respectively. The intensity of positional nystagmus in those patients was(4.12±3.46)°/s,which was much higher than that of the control group(<0.01).One or more abnormal findings for visual-oculomotor system examination were shown in 37 patients(74%).Both vestibular central and peripheral system can be involved in PCIV.VNG test has clinical significance in differential diagnosis and lesion location. The abnormal ratio of visual nystamography in PCIV group reaches 92%(46/50).These results suggest that VNG be used as an important accessory diagnostic tool for patients with PCIV.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of cAMP-dependent protein kinase inhibitor beta (PKIB) in colorectal carcinoma (CRC) and its association with the clinicopathological factors of the patients.

METHODSThe expression of PKIB mRNA was detected with quantitative real-time PCR in 34 CRC tissues and paired adjacent tissues. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of PKIB protein in 72 CRC tissue specimens, and the relationship between PKIB protein expression and the clinicopathological features of the patients was analyzed.

RESULTSThe expression of PKIB mRNA was significantly higher in CRC tissues than in the paired asjacent tissues (P<0.0001). The expression of PKIB protein in CRC patients was closely related with tumor infiltration (T stage) (P=0.038) but not with age, gender, tumor size, location, lymph node metastasis (N stage) or distant metastasis (M stage) (P>0.05). The survival time of patients with high PKIB expressions was significantly shorter than that of patients with low PKIB expressions (70.532∓6.190 vs 93.500∓5.847 months, P=0.023).

CONCLUSIONA high expression of PKIB in CRC is positively correlated with tumor infiltration (T stage) and a poor prognosis, suggesting an important role of PKIB in the development of CRC and its value as an indicator for prognostic evaluation of CRC patients.

RESUMEN

Objective To explore the feasibility of imaging and treatment of cervical cancer xenograft model using 131I mediated by hNIS gene transfection. Methods The cervical cancer xenograft models were established with Hela-NIS( +) cells and Hela cells, respectively. Five Hela-NIS( +) xenograft models and five Hela xenograft models were dynamically imaged at 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 and 20 h postinjection of 131I(7.4 MBq). Five Hela-NIS( +) xenograft models were imaged at 0. 5,1,2,4,8,16, 20 and 25 h postinjection of 99TcmO4-(11.1 MBq). Twenty Hela-NIS( +) cervical cancer xenograft models were randomly divided into four groups: Three 131I treating groups and one control group. The therapeutic effects of 131I at threelevels (74,111,148 MBq) were investigated following intraperitoneal injection. Results Hela-NIS( +)human cervical cancer xenografts were established successfully in nude mice. The Hela-NIS( +) xenografts significantly accumulated radioactivity after intraperitoneal injection of 131I, and the radioactivity was persistently present until 20 h postinjection, but Hela xenografts had no radioactive accumulation. The T/B value of the Hela-NIS( +) xenografts reached 17.34 at 8 h postinjection. The imaging with 99TcmO4- showed that the radioactivity was persistently present in Hela-NIS( +) xenografts for almost 25 h. The Hela-NIS( +)xenografts shrinked after 131I treatment. The inhibition ratios of tumor growth in 111 MBq and 148 MBq groups were both significantly higher than that of 74 MBq group (t: 2.74-5.75, P <0.05). Conclusions Hela-NIS( +) cervical cancer xenografts in nude mice could persistently accumulate 131I and 99TcmO4- and could be treated successfully with 131 I. 131 I treatment mediated by hNIS gene transfection could be a promising cancer treatment method.
