RESUMEN

Lymphedema of the penis and scrotum, regardless of its etiology, is determined by reduced lymphatic flow from the penis and scrotum with subsequent enlargement. The clinical course of this condition is characterized by extreme discomfort for patients, with limitation of local hygiene, ambulation and sexual intercourse. The treatment of lymphedema of the penis and scrotum is by removing affected tissues and correcting the penoscrotal region. This presents a case of huge penoscrotal lymphedema; severe penile fibrosis, recurrent urinary tract infections and a non healthy perineal skin. After complete resection of the affected tissues, it was difficult to reconstruct the scrotum, so the operation was completed by re-implanting the testicles. It was conclude that the modified Charles procedure for the treatment of penoscrotal lymphedema is easily reproducible and allows better cosmetic results in the affected area with remarkable improvement in quality of life

RESUMEN

Lipoma is called the universal tumour since it occurred anywhere and in some sites conventional surgery result in undesirable scar. Therefore the aesthetic outcome is demanded; from here raises the alternative of liposuction especially in exposed area. Prospective controlled study was carried out aim to assess the degree of excision, cosmetic result and patient's satisfaction. Patient included were subjected to preoperative FNAC for confirmation of the pathology, Clinical and sometimes ultrasonic study to exclude septated ones. Histological study was done to confirm preoperative cytology. All of the group were quiet satisfied with the results and the aesthetic outcome together with elimination of the pathology. We do recommend liposuction as alternative surgical procedures for benign lipoma especially in aesthetically jeopardized areas by conventional scars

RESUMEN

Surgical closure of subtotal perforations can present a problem. The lack of anterior support frequently leads to graft failure if an underlay technique is used, whereas, anterior blunting and lateralization are complications of only techniques. Sandwich graft tympanoplasy was found to be reliable in closing 23 subtotal perforations. It uses both an internal and external areolar fascia grafts plus an immediate epithelial coverage. This method gave 95.7% closure rate with no significant blunting or lateralization and a mean auditory threshold gain of 19.1 dB. One patient [4.3%] had epithelial pearl and no one had significant thickening of the new drum
