RESUMEN

Waterborne viruses that can be harmful to human health pose significant challenges globally, affecting health care systems and the economy.Identifying these waterborne pathogens is essential for preventing diseases and protecting public health. However, handling complex samples such as human and waste-water can be challenging due to their dynamic and complex composition and the ultralow concentration of target analytes. This review presents a comprehensive overview of the latest breakthroughs in waterborne virus biosensors. It begins by highlighting several promising strategies that enhance the sensing performance of optical and electrochemical biosensors in human samples. These strategies include optimizing bioreceptor selection, transduction elements, signal amplification, and integrated sensing systems.Furthermore, the insights gained from biosensing waterborne viruses in human sam-ples are applied to improve biosensing in wastewater, with a particular focus on sampling and sample pretreatment due to the dispersion characteristics of waterborne viruses in wastewater. This review suggests that implementing a comprehensive system that integrates the entire waterborne virus detection process with high-accuracy analysis could enhance virus monitoring. These findings provide valuable insights for improving the effectiveness of waterborne virus detection, which could have sig-nificant implications for public health and environmental management.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of mucin 15 (MUC15) in hepatocellular carcinoma and explore its association with the prognosis of patients.

METHODSThe expression of MUC15 was detected by quantitative RT-PCR and Western blotting in liver cell line L02, liver cancer cell lines HepG2, MHCC-97H, and SMMC-7721, and in 122 HCC and corresponding adjacent non-tumor liver tissues. The association of MUC15 expression in HCC tissues with the clinical parameters and the patients' survival was analyzed.

RESULTSThe 1iver cell line L02 showed significantly higher MUC15 expression level than the liver cancer cell lines HepG2, MHCC-97H, and SMMC-7721 (P<0.05). The expression level of MUC15 was markedly lower in the HCC tissues than in the adjacent non-tumor liver tissues (P<0.05). MUC15 expression in the HCC tissues was significantly correlated with the tumor TNM stage, intrahepatic or lymphatic metastasis, portal vein thrombosis and tumor differentiation (P<0.05). Kaplan-Meier survival analysis suggested that a low MUC15 expression was associated with a poor clinical prognosis of the patients.

CONCLUSIONThe expression of MUC15 is correlated with the clinicopathological features and prognosis of HCC patients, and may potentially serve as a novel prognostic marker for HCC.

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the role of Jiawei-sini Dection on expression of rat transforming growth factor-β1 receptor Ⅰ,Ⅱ(TβRⅠ,TβR Ⅱ), and study its treatment of anti-HF and the possible mechanisms. Methods The model of rat hepatic fibrosis was setup by subcutaneous injection of carbon tetrachloride and drinking alcohol freely;According to random block method, the successful model rats were divided into three groups:pathological model group (group B),Fufangbiejiarangan tablet group (group C), and Jiawei Sini Decoction group (group D), each group containing ten rats. Group A and group B were given two milliliters saline, group C was given Fufangbiejiarangan tablets 0.625 grams per kilogram of body weight, group D was given Jiawei Sini liquid 15.625 grams per kilogram of body weight. Each rat was fed once a day for 8 weeks. In order to avoid the natural repair of the hepatic affecting the experimental results, the rats, except group A, were still injected 40% CCl4 three milliliters per kilogram of body weight after feeding drug once a week. Fufang-Biejia-Ruangan Ttablet group was set as a positive control; The effects on expression of TβRⅠ,TβR Ⅱ were determined by immunohistochemical method. Changes of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alkaline phosphatase(ALP) and TβRⅠ,TβR Ⅱ were observed in rats. Results The expression of TβRⅠ、Ⅱ, compared with the pathological model(16.63±2.69)%, (14.57±1.09)%, were significantly reduced in Jiawei-Sini Dection group[they are(8.09±0.71)%,(6.51±0.48)%, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The effects of Jiawei-Sini Dection was equal to the effect of Fufang-Biejia-Ruangan Tablets on expression of TβRⅠ,TβR Ⅱ(P>0.05). Conclusion Jiawei-Sini Dection was able to inhibit the expression of TβRⅠ and TβR Ⅱ, thus affected the combination of TGFβ1, and their receptors.
