RESUMEN
During routine investigations of patients with visceral leishmaniasis [Kala-Azar], it was noted that some of them had a lipemic serum. In 2 years we observed 16 patients, 12 males and 4 females with Kala-Azar disease accompanied with hypertriglyceridemia, with a level ranging from 208-382 mg/dl. Serum triglyceride dropped to 152-382mg/dl after three weeks of treatment with antimony gluconate [glucantim]. All the 16 cases had normal cholesterol level
