RESUMEN
In the fi eld of forensics, the use of dentition for identifi cation has been well established. Th e dental analysis has been employed mainly for the positive personal identifi cation of the person. Th erefore, the purpose of this review is to show the possibility of using the dental characteristics, for example, caries and dental restorations for the general profi ling of the decedent. It was found that many signifi cant relationships existed between the dental characteristics and the sex, race, age, and socioeconomic status of the person identifi ed. Th e socioeconomic status is having the least number of correlations while the age and race were seen to have the most.
