RESUMEN

Objective [s]: This study aimed to examine the association between psychological characteristics with impotence and obesity


Methods: For this post-event study, a sample of 90 students was randomly selected from Mohaghegh Ardabili university. Goldberg mental health questionnaire was used to to measure mental health. Also weight and hight were measured to calculate body mass index [BMI]. Accordingly individuals were categorized into theree groups: thin, normal and obese. The data were analyzed with discriminate analysis technique to achieve the study objective


Results: The results showed that depression, social dysfunction, and body complain were higher in thin than obese and normal individuals. However, the anxiety was higher in obese than thin and normal individuals


Conclusion: The findings suggest that depression; anxiety, social dysfunction and somatization could predict fatness or thinness

RESUMEN

Psychological capital is a new concept that today is discussed. Introducing this approach is indicative of its importance and role to psychological well-being and social capital. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between psychological capitals with social capital in Tabriz university students. The study was descriptive-correlative and the sample includes the entire student of Tabriz university who were 15000 students and 400 people [200 males and 200 females]. They were selected by using cluster sampling. The data were collected by the Luthans inventory capital psychological and Delaviz scale social capital. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and regression using SPSS-16. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between psychological capital and its components with the social capital. On the other hand, the results revealed that the psychological capital and its components can predict changes in social capital significantly. Also, the people who have better psychological capital have better and higher and social capital.

RESUMEN

Background: Bacterial vaginosis [BV] is the most common type of vaginitis during reproductive period. Preterm labor, tubal infertility and pelvic inflammatory disease are more prevalent among women with vaginosis. Regarding high amount of refers and lack of data about their risk factors, this study was conducted


Materials and methods: In this descriptive- analytic study, 1000 women referred to Tabriz health centers were randomly selected. Data were collected by a questionnaire containing demographic and fertility characteristics, previous history of treatment of symptoms as well as individual and sexual hygiene, researcher's observations and results laboratory tests. Three samples were obtained from vaginal and cervical secretion and were used for microscopic observation and culture. Amsel's diagnostic criteria were used for bacterial vaginosis. Data were analyzed by chi-square, t-test, exact Fisher test and logistic regression


Results: Gardnerella Vaginalis was found in 9.2% of vaginal discharges. Risk factors of BV included number of delivery, vaginal delivery, abortion, IUD utilization, individual and sexual hygiene and duration of antibiotic use. Number of vaginal delivery and abortion, vaginal pH, sexual hygiene, women's education and husband's occupation were predictive factors of BV


Conclusion: This study showed that diagnosis and treatment of BV based on symptoms could not be appropriate. It is recommended that laboratory testing should be added to clinical observation and examination to detect BV, especially before IUD insertion
