RESUMEN
Infertility with diminished ovarian reserve(DOR) is a major problem in the field of reproductive health and it has attracted great attention worldwidely.Function deficiency of the kidney is one of the fundamental pathogenesis for DOR.Traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs) have a long history with rich experience for the treatment of infertility. Some TCMs are very effective in the treatment of kidney deficiency for infertility with DOR.The integrated TCMs and western medicine, and combination of disease differentiation and syndrome differentiation may help for diagnosis and treatment of infertility with DOR.We adopt the concept of unified treatment for special disease, and the methods and principle of treatment can be used. Therefore,we adopt the TCM concept of kidney-tonifying,blood-nourishing,liver-dispersing and spleen-invigorating.The TCMs kidney-tonifying formulae are added and subtracted.TCMs can regulate the reproductive function via multiple systems for simultaneous conditioning of follicular development and ovulation. At the same time,a hypothesis of " simultaneous conditioning of follicular development and ovulation" was proposed.Two-stage therapy with integrated TCMs and western medicine has been used, mainly for increasing the number of eggs, and improving follicle quality. The goal is to achieve simultaneous conditioning of follicular development and ovulation and ultimately for effective treatment of infertility with DOR.

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the effects of intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) on coagulation function, deep venous hemodynamics and prevention of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) of lower limbs in patients after rectal cancer resection.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>A total of 120 patients undergoing rectal cancer resection were randomly divided into non-IPC group (control group, n=60) and IPC group (n=60). The control group received routine treatment after resection and the IPC group received IPC based on the routine treatments. Prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), fibrinogen (FIB), international normalized ratio (INR) and volume of D-dimer (D-D) were detected before operation and 1-, 3-, 5- and 7-day after operation. Meanwhile, blood flow velocity and caliber of external iliac vein, femoral vein and popliteal vein were examined by color Doppler ultrasound, then the average blood flow velocity and blood flow volume were calculated.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Incidence of lower limb DVT was 13.3% (8/60) and 1.7% (1/60) in control group and IPC group respectively with significant difference (P<0.05). The differences in PT, APTT and INR were not significant (P>0.05) at 1-day after operation as compared to the preoperative level, while FIB and D-D both increased (P<0.05), all presented no significant difference among the two groups (P>0.05). PT shortened gradually (P<0.05), APTT and INR did not change significantly (P>0.05), FIB and D-D increased gradually (P<0.05), and no significant differences were found between the two groups at the same time point (all P>0.05). All the above parameters in the control group were significantly lower than those in IPC group (all P<0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>IPC can improve hemodynamics indexes of deep veins of lower limb in patients after rectal cancer operation, and prevent the lower limb DVT. IPC is a safe, simple and convenient physical therapy.</p>

A brief history and new developments of acupuncture moxibustion in the former Soviet Union is provided in this paper, as well as in Russia. Science of acupuncture-moxibustion was introduced into Russia after the 10th Century. After the foundation of People's Republic of China, acupuncture-moxibustion therapy has drawn widespread attention in the former Soviet Union and Russia since the 1950s. Notably, acupuncture moxibustion therapy was legalized and popularized in mid 1950s in the Soviet Union, which was gradually accepted as a part of the country's medical system. In the latest 20 years, Federal health departments have paid attention to acupuncture-moxibustion therapy and issued laws and regulations on acupuncture reflexotherapy. The number of books and journals about acupuncture-moxibustion has been increasing; clinical application of acupuncture-moxibustion has been spreading and is welcomed by people. Academic exchanges between China and Russia are more frequent, which promoted the development of science of acupuncture-moxibustion in Russia.

This study was designed to investigate the biological and immunological characteristics of a human diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) cell line SUDHL-4, and to establish a mouse model for human DLBCL. SUDHL-4 cells were cultured under different conditions. The morphology and in vitro expression of B-cell and tumor-related markers were detected by microscopy and flow cytometry respectively. To establish the transplanted tumor, the cells were injected subcutaneously into SCID mice. Tumor formation and its histomorphology were analyzed. The results showed that the expression of B cell/tumor-related markers was found on cultured SUDHL-4 cells. A stable mouse model of human DLBCL was successfully established in SCID mice by subcutaneous injection of 10(7) SUDHL-4 cells. Tumor tissue from mice exhibited similar histologic manifestation to those of human DLBCL. It is concluded that the SUDHL-4 cells represent a high consistency in immunological characteristics with human DLBCL. Transplantation of SUDHL-4 cells provides a syngeneic mouse model for the study of human DLBCL.

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study changes of plasma motilin concentration and it's effect on enteral nutrition in premature infants.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The plasma motilin concentration of 72 premature infants was measured within 12 hours after birth before enteral feeding and on day 3 and 7 of life by using radioimmunoassay. Sixteen full-term neonates were enrolled as controls.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>(1) The plasma concentrations of motilin in premature infants before enteral feeding after birth and on day 3 and 7 were 198.65 +/- 58.42 ng/L, 248.83 +/- 56.00 ng/L, and 376.77 +/- 139.46 ng/L, respectively, which were significantly lower than those in the control group (300.33 +/- 67.15 ng/L, 334.26 +/- 83.81 ng/L, 510.64 +/- 179.85 ng/L) (P < 0.001 or < 0.01). There was positive correlation between the concentration and gestational age, age in day and the volume of milk. On day 7 the level of motilin was higher than the pre-enteral feeding level of the full term control group. (2) The plasma motilin concentration in feeding un-tolerated premature infants group was lower than that in the normal group, especially on day 3 of life (P < 0.05). (3) Early enteral feeding could improve the plasma motilin levels, gastrointestinal motility and nutrition tolerance in premature infants.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>The gastrointestinal functions of premature infants are adaptable to enteral nutrition. Early enteral feeding (including minimal enteral nutrition and non-nutritive sucking) can promote adaptive rapid growth and development of intestine.</p>

The wide frequency band ECG (WFB-ECG) was recorded in 33 (anesthetized) normal pigeons by the microprocessor ECG system (made in Nanjing University) with a wide-frequency response (0-1000 Hz), a high-speed sweep (up to 1401 mm/s) and a high sensitivity (up to 28 mm/mV). The recording methods for limb leads in the pigeon were the same as those in man, except that the needle electrodes (made by No.5 needles) were subcutaneously inserted in the bases of the wings and in the legs. We studied the features of time domain and power spectrum of pigeons WFB-ECG. It presents P, R, S and T waves, but no Q wave, basically similar to the results from Aves described by Sturkie. But there are still many characters that were not be recorded on the conventional ECG: (1) the main QRS complex is inverted and forms the type of rS or rSr , no Q wave in leads II, III, aVF, and the S-T segment is absent, which is different from that of humans. The T wave is upright in leads II, III, and aVF (except one), in agreement with that of man. But in lead aVR, the main QRS complex is upright and forms the type of Rs, and the T wave is inverted without any exception. There is a large notch on the upstroke of S wave without any exception. The amplitude of the notch is 0.413+/-0.133 mV and the duration is 9.733+/-1.291 ms in lead II. (2) The ratio of duration of P wave to P-R segment is about 0.8, lower than that of humans (1.0-1.6), but higher than that of mice (0.4). (3) The low frequency signals (0-80 Hz) are prominent. The relative power content of high frequency range of QRS in lead II is: 100-1000 Hz: (10.181+/-7.443)%; 80-300 Hz: (15.418+/-10.579)%. (4)The QRS vector loop in the frontal plane lies between -90 degrees and -180 degrees. The electrical axis of QRS complex averages -118 +/-10 (ranges from -96 degrees to -136 degrees). The reason that position of vector loop and the direction of main wave of QRS in the pigeon are different from human s and rodent s is probably that the Purkinje fibers cross the whole ventricular wall and terminate in the subepicardium in Aves including pigeons . After the impulses coming from the sinoatrial node reach the ventricular muscles, the subepicardium is depolarized before the endocardium. However in human s and rodent s, the Purkinje fibres only reach one-forth to one-second of the whole thickness from the endocardium to the epicardium, the subendocardium is depolarized before the subepicardium.
