RESUMEN

Objective@#To examine the association of 24 hour movement behaviors with emotional and behavioral problems among left behind children, so as to provide a theoretical reference for the practice of 24 hour activity interventions to promote emotional and behavioral problems in this population.@*Methods@#From February to May 2023, 1 117 left behind children in grades 4-6 from 10 primary schools in five cities in Zhejiang Province were selected using a convenient cluster sampling method to conduct a questionnaire survey examining 24 hour movement behaviors, as well as emotional and behavioral problems. The general linear model was adopted to analyze the association between satisfying the 24 hour movement behavior guidelines, and emotional and behavioral problems among left behind children.@*Results@#The sleep duration compliance rate was the highest (52.19%), while the moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) compliance rate was the lowest (17.73%). The compliance rate of the three activities accounted for 7.43 %. There was a dose response between the number of guidelines satisfied, and the emotional and behavior of left behind children; that was, satisfaction of a higher number of guidelines was associated with a lower risk of emotional and behavioral problems among left behind children (difficulty factor: β=-0.56, 95%CI =-1.23--0.19; strength factor: β=0.50, 95%CI =-0.48-1.22, P < 0.01). Compared to satisfying none of the guidelines, satisfying the guidelines for screen time ( β=-0.23, 95%CI =-2.18- -0.14 ) and sleep duration ( β=-0.13, 95%CI =-1.66--0.11) was negatively correlated with the difficulty factor, while satisfying the guideline for MVPA ( β=0.13, 95%CI =0.09-1.08) and sleep duration ( β=0.18, 95%CI =0.09-1.40) was positively associated with the strength factor. In addition, satisfying two or all three of the guidelines was more strongly associated with these outcomes than satisfying one of the recommendations ( P <0.01).@*Conclusions@#Meeting the 24 hour movement behavior guidelines can improve emotional and behavioral problems among left behind children. It is necessary to raise their awareness of the effect of satisfying the 24 hour movement behavior guidelines and formulate comprehensive intervention measures.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE Alzheimer disease(AD)is a neurodegenerative disease with clinical hallmarks of pro-gressive cognitive impairment.Synergistic effects of Aβ-tau cascade reaction are tightly implicated in AD patholo-gy,and microglial NLRP3 inflammasome activation drives neuronal tauopathy through microglia and neurons cross-talk.However,the underlying mechanism of how Aβ medi-ates NLRP3 inflammasome remains unclear.Shab related potassium channel member 1(Kv2.1)as a voltage gated po-tassium channel widely distributed in the central nervous system and plays an important role in regulating the out-ward potassium flow in neurons and glial cells. In current work,we aimed to explore the underlying mechanism of Kv2.1 in regulating Aβ/NLRP3 inflammasome/tau axis by using a determined Kv2.1 inhibitor drofenine(Dfe).METHODS Cell-based assays including Western blot-ting and immunofluorescence staining against primary microglia or neurons were carried out to expound the role of Kv2.1 channel in NLRP3 inflammasome activa-tion and subsequent neuronal tau hyperphosphorylation. For animal studies, new object recognition,Y-maze and Morris water maze were performed to evaluate the ame-lioration of Kv2.1 inhibition through either Kv2.1 inhibitor Dfe treatment or adeno-associated virus AAV-ePHP-si-Kv2.1injectionon5×FADADmodel mice.Assays of histol-ogy and immunostaining of tissue sections and Western blotting of brain tissues were performed to verify the con-clusion of cellular assays.RESULTS We reported that oligomeric Aβ(o-Aβ)bound to microglial Kv2.1 and pro-moted Kv2.1-dependent potassium leakage to activate NLRP3 inflammasome through JNK/NF-κB pathway sub-sequently resulting in neuronal tauopathy.Treatment of either Kv2.1 inhibitor Dfe or AAV-ePHP-si-Kv2.1 for brain-specific Kv2.1 knockdown deprived o-A β of its capability in inducing microglial NLRP3 inflammasome activation and neuronal tau hyperphosphorylation, while improved the cognitive impairment of 5×FAD AD model mice.CONCLUSION Our results have highly addressed that Kv2.1 channel is required for o-Aβ driving NLRP3 inflammasome activation and neuronal tauopathy in AD model mice and highlighted that Kv2.1 inhibition is a prom-ising therapeutical strategy for AD and Dfe as a Kv2.1 inhibitor shows potential in the treatment of this disease.

RESUMEN

Objective To understand the activity concentrations of natural radionuclides 40K, 226Ra, 232Th, and 238U in raw coal of coal mines in some regions of China, and to explore the correlation between ore with different activity concentrations and the concentration of radon and its progeny in the workplace. Methods Raw coal samples were collected in twelve coal mines in five provinces, and the activity concentrations of 40K, 226Ra, 232Th, and 238U were measured by a high-purity germanium γ-ray spectrometric system. Results The activity concentrations of four natural radionuclides in the raw coal samples of twelve coal mines were all lower than 1000 Bq/kg, and the activity concentration of 238U in one coal mine was close to 100 Bq/kg. The content of 40K, 226Ra, 232Th, and 238U in different coal mines varied greatly, but 226Ra, 232Th, and 238U were basically at the same level in the same coal mine. Conclusion None of the 12 coal mines belong to radio active mines. One of the coal mines investigated has the activity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th, and 238U close to the standard limit for restricted-use management mines. It is suggested to study the correlation between the content of 226Ra in raw ore, intermediate products, tailings(slag), or other residues and the concentration of radon and its progeny in mines. Monitoring and protection of radon and its progeny in the decay chain should be strengthened for coal mines with high activity concentrations of natural radionuclides 226Ra, 232Th, and 238U.

RESUMEN

Dental caries are common diseases in children and often affect their growth and development. In order to understand the dental caries status of preschool children in Qingdao, a total of 1 690 children aged 3-6 years were screened from 13 kindergartens in two districts of Qingdao. The oral health examination was conducted according to the WHO standard, including the decayed-missing-filled index and pigmentation status. The prevalence of caries, the mean decayed, missing and filled tooth (dmft) and the mean dmfs were calculated. The results showed that the prevalence of deciduous teeth caries of children was 65.3% (n=1 103) with the mean dmft and dmfs about 3.2 and 5.4. There was a statistically significant difference in the prevalence of deciduous teeth caries among different age groups (P<0.001). There was a statistically significant difference between the prevalence of deciduous teeth caries with and without pigmentation (P<0.001). The prevalence of caries in preschool children in Qingdao is high and more attention should be paid to their dental caries.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND:Maxil ofacial malformation limits the function of the mandible, produces the overload of the temporalmandibular joint leading to oral diseases. OBJECTIVE:To measure the characteristics of mandibular movement in populations with various types of dental occlusion. METHODS:Thirty-three volunteers (1 male and 32 females, mean age 21.71 years) meeting the inclusion criteria were enrol ed from Dalian Medical University, China and divided into four groups:normal control (n=10), Angle’s class I, II, III malocclusion (n=10, 8, 5). The protrusion, lateral, opening motion trace of mandibular central incisor and the right mandibular first molar, and the trace from mandibular postural position to intercuspal position were measured using the mandibular kinesiograph. The features of different occlusal patterns were analyzed using SPSS 17.0 software. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In the trace of protrusion, lateral, opening and closing motion, there were significant differences in the trace of the right mandibular first molar’s Max.Slant between Angle’s class II malocclusion group and the other three groups (P0.05). These results indicate that there are differences in the trace of mandibular central incisor and the trace of the right mandibular first molar in range and speed between different occlusal patterns. We can draw a conclusion that malocclusion has effects on the direction, range and speed of mandibular movement.

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the liver injury degree of SD rats after 28-day administration of aqueous extracts of Polygonum multiflorum (AEPM) and the correlation with cholestasis mechanism.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>Adult SD rats were orally administered with 30, 60 g x kg(-1) of APEM once every day for 28 d. After 28 d, the general condition of rats such as weight were observed, liver function-related indicators were detected. Bile was collected to determine total bile acid output, flow rate and density and changes in major compositions. Their livers were weighed then sent for histopathological examination.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>AEPM did not change the general conditions and weights of rats. From the results of the related indicators of liver function and cholestasis, AEPM did not change the contents of ALT and AST in serum, but high dose of AEPM can increase the contents of ALP, GGT and TBA in serum (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) and decrease the content of TBIL in serum (P < 0.05). And the contents of GGT in serum of low dose rats were increased (P < 0.05). The bile flow was not changed by AEPM, but bile compositions of high dose male rats were obviously changed (TG increase, TBIL decrease, TBA decrease). The weights of liver and ratio of liver of the high dose rats were increased but showed no statistical significance. Pathologic examination displayed that there were only small pieces of necrosis in livers of several rats, without any severe disease.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>AEPM can obviously injure bile duct epithelial cells, intervene liver cell functions and change bile compositions in rats, thus it is proved to induce cholestasis without severe liver injury.</p>
