RESUMEN

ObjectiveTo study the change of the pulmonary surfactant protein C, D (SP-C, SP-D) and apoptosis of alveolar epithelium cells in neonatal rats with hyperoxia-induced lung injury.MethodsThe neonatal rats born within 24 hours were divided into the air group (n=50) and the hyperoxia group (n=50). The lung tissue was collected on the ifrst, third, seventh, tenth, fourteenth day after the hyperoxia exposure. The pathological changes were observed by HE staining. The apoptosis rate of lung epithelial cells was detected by TUNEL (terminal deoxyn ucleotidyl transfer-mediated end labeling). The content of SP-C and SP-D in broncho alveolar lavage lfuid (BALF) was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.ResultsIn the air group, as age increased, the alveolar were gradually more completely formed with the regular shape and uniform size. Mean-while, in the hyperoxia group, as age increased, the number of alveolar was reduced, the small blood vessels expanded, the alve-olar hemorrhage was increased, the interstitial cells were increased and the lung tissue was swelling. The levels of SP-C, SP-D decreased with the increase of age in the air group. The level of SP-C in hyperoxia group was lower than that in the air group on the ifrst day. It was higher than that in the air group on the third day, peaked on the seventh day, and then it began to decline on the tenth day and decreased more obviously on the fourteenth day. The level of SP-D in hyperoxia group was not signiifcantly dif-ferent from that in the air group on the ifrst day, was higher than that in the air group on the third day and peaked on the seventh day. Then it began to decline on the tenth day and decreased more on the fourteenth day. ConclusionsLong-term inhalation of high concentrations of oxygen inhibits alveolar development. With the prolonged time of oxygen inhalation, the apoptosis of lung epithelial cells is increased, and the level of SP-C and SP-D in BALF was increased ifrst and then decreased.

RESUMEN

Objective To explore the impact of levels of serum IL-17,Leukotriene B4 and IgE on pathogenesis of childhood asthma. Methods Totally 60 children with asthma acute exacerbation ( 29 children with mild asthma,31 children with moderate-severe asthma) were selected as study group,24 healthy children were selected as control group.Serum IL-17 and LTB4 were measured with euryzemLinked immunosorbent assay, serum IgE was determined with enzyme-linked fluoroimmuneassay by pharmacia CAP Sytem,PMN was determined with automatic blood analyser, pulmonary function was measured in the study group. Results ( 1 ) The level of serum IL-17 ( 1.15 ± 0.10 μg/L,2.80 ± 2.30 μg/L,0.83 ± 0.10 μg/L),LTB4 (2.22 ± 1.01 μg/L,8.79 ± 9.36 μg/L,1.94 ± 1.13 μg/L) and IgE( 123.70 ±86.94 μg/L,322.27 ±332.28 μg/L,24.27 ±7.64 μg/L) were significantly different among mild asthma group,moderate-severe asthma group and control group( P < 0.001 ).( 2 )The N% of mild asthma group,moderate-severe asthma group and study group were( 55.06 ± 1 1.15 ) %,( 64.44± 11.87)%,(47.96 ± 13.52)%,L% were(42.20 ± 11.04)%,(33.93 ± 10.02)%,(49.65 ± 13.02)%,and there were significant differences in N% and L% between study group and control group( P < 0.05 ).( 3 ) There were significant positive correlations between the serum IL-17 levels and IgE,LTB4 and IgE,IL-17 and LTB4 in asthmatic children( P <0.05).(4) There were significant negative correlcations between the level of serum IL-17,LTB4 and FEVI,PEF( P <0.001 ).There were significant positive correlations between serum IL-17,LTB4 and N% (P <0.001 ).(5)There were not correlations between the level of serum IgE and FEV1,PEF and N%in asthmatic children( P >0.05 ).Conclusion The levels of serum IL-17,LTB4 and IgE participated in pathogenesis on asthmatic children patients.

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the association of serum interleukin-8 (IL-8) and myocardial enzyme levels in children with bronchopneumonia. Methods Serum IL-8 contents were measured by the radioimmunity method and serum myocardial enzyme contents were measured by the Olympus AU640 in 60 children with bronchopneumonia (mild 30 cases and severe 30 cases) as well as in 30 controls. Results Serum IL-8 contents were significantly higher in children with severe bronchopneumonia and mild bronchopneumonia than those in controls [( 2.54 ± 0.65),( 1.28 ± 0.53) μ g/L vs.(0.43 ± 0.08) μ g/L] (P <0.01),and serum myocardial enzyme contents (α-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase,MB isoenzyme of creatine kinase, creatine kinase, aspartate aminotransferase) were significantly higher in children with severe bronchopneumonia and mild bronchopneumonia than those in controls (P<0.01).Conclusions IL-8 and myocardial enzyme may play a role in children with bronchopneumonia.Determination of serum IL-8 and myocardial enzyme levels might have important prognostic values in children with bronchopneumonia.
