RESUMEN

Computed tomographic(CT) pulmonary angiography is becoming the standard of care for the evaluation of patients with suspected pulmonary embolism. This pathologic condition, whether acute or chronic, causes both partial and complete intraluminal filling defects. In acute pulmonary embolism that manifests as complet arterial occlusion, the affected artery may be enlarged.Partial filling defects due to acute pulmonary embolism are often centrally located, but when eccentrically located they form acute angles with the vessel wall.Chronic pulmonary embolism can manifest as complete occlusive disease in vessels that are smaller than adjacent patent vessels. In this article, the author described the technique of CT pulmonary angiography, diagnostic criteria for acute and chronic pulmonary embolism, and causes of misdiagnosis of pulmonary embolism.

RESUMEN

Positron emission tomography(PET) is a diagnostic imaging technique for the identification of biochemical and physiologic alterations in tumors. Use of PET performed with 18-fluoro-2-deoxy-2-fluor-D-glucose (FDG) may significantly improve the accuracy of tumor imaging. FDG PET based on identification of fundamental aspects of tumor metabolism has gained widespread acceptance in the initial staging of cancer, cancer recurrence, and monitoring the response to therapy. FDG uptake is proportional to the increasing metabolic rate of glucose demanding of tumor cell. The high sensitivity and high negative predictive value of FDG PET in most of malignant tumors enable this technique to play a greater role in guiding the tumor management at initial staging and follow-up.

RESUMEN

Objective To observe the effect of inferior epigastric artery angiography applied in the transplantation with the deep inferior epigastric perforator free flap. Methods Seven patients who had undergone the deep inferior epigastric perforator free flap transplantation, received angiography of the inferior epigastric artery. The value of the angiography was discussed. Results All patients were successful in angiography without any adverse reaction.Mll patients were successful in transplantation except one because of personal reason. Conclusion Inferior epigastric artery angiography facilitates the transplantation with the deep inferior epigastrie perforator free flap.
