RESUMEN

Objectives To investigate the relationship between self-reported occupational noise exposure and levels of plasma inflammatory cytokines in asthmatic patients. Methods A total of 910 adult asthmatic patients were selected as the study subjects, and their occupational noise exposure history and other related information were collected. The peripheral blood samples were collected from the patients, and the expression levels of plasma soluble CD14 (sCD14), complement factor D (CFD), Eotaxin-11 (CCL11), and IL-9 were determined. The relationship between self-reported occupational noise exposure and the expression levels of the four inflammatory cytokines in patients’ plasma were analyzed using multiple linear regression models. The interactions between confounding factors and self-reported occupational noise exposure were further analyzed by interaction analysis. Results The plasma CCL11, sCD14 and CFD expressions in asthmatic patients with self-reported occupational noise exposure were significantly higher than those in patients without the exposure (P<0.05). After adjusting for confounding factors, compared with patients reporting no occupational noise exposure, the plasma CFD expression was increased by 0.17 (95% CI: 0.02, 0.31) natural logarithm units in patients with self-reported occupational noise exposure. During remission, the levels of plasma CCL11 and sCD14 in asthmatic patients with self-reported occupational noise exposure were increased by 0.27 (95% CI: 0.05, 0.49) and 0.22 (95% CI: 0.02, 0.41) natural logarithm units, respectively, when compared with patients without the exposure. Interaction analysis showed that self-reported occupational noise exposure had significant multiplicative interaction with smoking or pet ownership on plasma CCL11 or CFD expressions in asthmatic patients (all P<0.05). Conclusion Self-reported occupational noise exposure is significantly associated with increased expression levels of plasma CFD, CCL11, and sCD14 in adult asthmatic patients.

RESUMEN

Objective To observe the outcomes of seizure control by three different surgical approaches, hippocampal transection, anterior temporal lobectomy and selective amygdalo-hippocampectomy,for the treatment of intractable medial temporal epilepsy, and explore their influences in the impairments of cognitive and memorial functions. Methods Twenty-nine patients with intractable medial temporal epilepsy, admitted to our hospital from January 2012 to October 2015,were chosen in our study;8 patients accepted hippocampal transection,10 accepted anterior temporal lobectomy and 11 accepted selective amygdalo-hippocampectomy.Seizure controls after treatment with these 3 approaches were compared and results of neuropsychological examinations (verbal intelligence quotient [VIQ],performance intelligence quotient [PIQ],full intelligence quotient [FIQ] and memory quotient [MQ]) were compared before and after operation. Results The effective rates of seizure controls were all higher than 80% and seizure free rate was about 60% in the 3 groups;Engel grading showed no significant differences among the three groups (P>0.05).Results of all the neuropsychological examinations in the hippocampal transection group before and after operation had no significant differences (P>0.05);however,all results in the anterior temporal lobectomy group after operation were significantly declined as compared with those before operation (P<0.05);and PIQ,FIQ and MQ scores in the selective amygdalo-hippocampectomy group after operation were significantly lower as compared with those before operation (P<0.05).Conclusions Hippocampal transection will not cause significant damage in intelligence and memory functions. As compared with both anterior temporal lobectomy and selective amygdalo-hippocampectomy,hippocampal transection can have good seizure control and preserve memory function.

RESUMEN

Objective Based on the analysis of papers published by postgraduate background staff from an upper first-class hospital in Guangxi during 2010-2014,claimed that the medical scientific research administrators should pay more attention and give more support to such staff. Methods Literature metrology method was used to describe and analyze the hospital staff, postgraduate staff resource composition and published papers from the annual growth rate, per capita, constituent ratio, quantitative analysis of core authors group. Results In the latest five years, the hospital postgraduate staff had published 169 papers,143 papers were published in statistical source journals or SCI;the amount of paper publication increased annually, the average of per author published paper was 0.39;but the quality still has a lot space for improvement. Conclusions Although the amount of paper publication by postgraduate background staff increased annually, the average paper number published per author showed the features of great fluctuation, the quality of those papers should be improved. The core authors were formed, but the quantity of this author group needs to be increased,as well as the scientific quality of those core authors.

RESUMEN

Informationization teaching resources contain a large number of information so rea-sonable and effective application of the resources is of great significance to the teaching. The article tries to explore and work out some teaching strategies for effective application of informationization teaching resources through action research combined with literature research , questionnaire survey method , interview and other methods. The research process: the original teaching strategies of infor-mationization teaching resources were implemented , implicated and verified in the first round action research; the problems in the first round were summarized and analyzed and the original teaching strategies were adjusted and optimized in the next round action research; finally, the teaching effec-tiveness between the two rounds action research was evaluated and analyzed by the “classroom teach-ing effectiveness criteria based on the use of information technology teaching resources”. The results show that effective application of informationization teaching resources is of great help to the teaching effect. It can enhance the learners' interest in learning and improve their academic performance. Ap-propriate and rational teaching strategy should be provided flexibly according to the learning back-ground and characteristics of students as well as learning contents.

RESUMEN

Objective To discuss the effect of evaluation on research performance of a upper first-class hospital in Guangxi by comprehensive index method, and to verify the scientific and practical of this method. Methods Five indexes for evaluating the research performance were selected, and different weight to each index was endowed. The original data were translated, comprehensive index method was applied to evaluate the research performance of that hospital from 2007 to 2012.Results The final sorting results were obtained through the comprehensive index method.Of the output quality from 2007 to 2012,year 2012 ranked the first, the comprehensive index value is 2.413;and year 2007 ranked the last, the value is 0.138.Conclusions The value was high relative, which accorded with the fact, comprehensive index method can evaluate the research performance precisely and rationally.
