This is a prospective work showing the usefulness of the echotomography [test] in the diagnosis of the hydatid cyst of the child's liver [42 cases]. - Ultrasonic waves helped in the positive diagnosis in 98,5% of cases and topographic diagnosis in 95% of cases.- The pure unvesiculary hydatid cyst is the most commun pattern for the child [88% of the cases]. - Easy and non irradiating test, the echography has changed the usual diagnosis process of the hydatid cyst of the liver, and it has by passed all other X - ray tests and even the biologic tests
