RESUMEN

Two phenylpropanoid compounds: Acteoside and 2'-O-acetylechinacoside and a flavone derivative, 5,7,3-trihydroxy-6,4-dimethoxy flavone were isolated and identified from the alcoholic extract of Lippia nodiflora [L.] Michx. [= Phyla nodiflora [L.] Greene], family Verbenaceae. Their structures were established through physical and chemical methods, in addition to different spectroscopic techniques [UV, IR, MS, H and 13C-NMR]

RESUMEN

Macro- and micromorphological study of the fruits of Zanthoxylum alatum Roxb. [Rutaceae] and Carum amnoids Benth. [Umbeiliferae = Apiaceae] are presented with the aim of identification of the fruits in the entire and powdered forms, as well as quantitative determination of the volatile oil contents, their physical properties and TLC behavior

RESUMEN

A new iridoid glucoside, anagalloside, was isolated from the aerial parts of Veronica anagallis-aquatica var. Anagalloides Schinz et Thell. Its structure was established by chemical and spectroscopic means. Anagalloside is the first iridoid glucoside with a double bond between C-8 and C-9

RESUMEN

5-O-beta-glucosylantirrhinoside and antirrhinoside were isolated from the dried whole plant of Schweinfurthia aptera Vatke. 5-O-beta- glucosylantirrhinoside was identified by spectral data [UV, IR, FAB- MS, PMR and 13C-NMR]. Antirrhinoside was confirmed by direct comparison against authentic sample [TLC and IR]

RESUMEN

Ethyl acetate soluble fraction of the methanol extract of the fresh aerial parts of Veronica filiformis Sm. yielded eight known iridoid glucosides; namely, aucubin, catalpol, veronicoside, amphicoside, catalposide, verproside, minecoside and verminoside. The isolated compounds were identified by chemical means, acid and alkaline hydrolysis, as well as cochromatography against authentics, and finally full characterized by their spectral data including UV, IR, FAB-MS, [1]H-NMR and [13]C-NMR

RESUMEN

The herb of Linaria haelava [Forssk.] Dil. was found to contain two known iridoids, 5-o-beta-glucosylantirrhinoside and antirrhinoside, in addition to the known phenylpropanoid glycoside, acteoside. The herb was also found to contain four flavonoid glycosides, namely, 4-acetylpectolinarin, pectolinarin, linarin and diosmin. The petals contained the same flavonoid pattern as in the whole herb but none of the phenylpropanoid or iridoid glycosides. All the mentioned compounds were identified by chemical and spectral methods

RESUMEN

A unique reductive process which converts hydroxyarylketones into hydroxyarylalkanes in presence of iodotrichlorosilane [ITCS] and CH[3]CN. Under similar conditions chalcone has been converted into alkylarylketone

RESUMEN

From the ethyl acetate extract of the aerial parts of veronica persica poir. in Lam., aucubin, catalpol, veronicoside, amphicoside, catalposide, verproside and 6-o-veratroylcatalpol were isolated and their structures were established by chemical, chromatographic and spectroscopic methods. Veronica persica poir in Lam. can be differentiated from the other closely related Veronica species of group Agrestis by its content of catalpol esters of benzoic acid derivatives
