RESUMEN
Thirty normally hearing subjects were examined by distortion product otoacoustic emission [DPOAE] with the aim of collecting parametric normal measures of distortion product otoacoustic emission which provide a base-line against which otoacoustic emission in impaired ears could be compared. Distortion product OAE could be detected in all the tested ears showing significant potential for becoming objective reliable test in evaluating the hearing capacity. Another test, distortion product growth rate provided information about the detection threshold of the emission as well as the suprathreshold growth of this emission with increasing stimulus level
