Bougie is an important adjunct in the anaesthesiologist armoury for a difficult airway1. Physical damage to bougie leading to airway trauma is rare but can be catastrophic. We report a case of an anticipated difficult extubation, where the bougie, used to extubate over the tube broke and migrated into the trachea indicating the need of a protocol for routine inspection of bougie which should be strictly adhered to

We report a case of use of semi rigid intubating bougie to intubate a patient with large thyroid swelling in life threatening airway emergency in the absence of sophisticated equipments.

Reported is a case of successful Nasotracheal intubation using Airtraq optical laryngoscope in a patient of fracture zygomatic arch with cervical spine injury. Th e patient had predicted diffi cult direct laryngoscopy with restricted mouth opening.
