A very important discipline in Medicine is the so called "Synthesis of Knowledge", based upon preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic strategies. Among several methods of synthesis used in evaluation of medical knowledge are the Consensus Conferences. They allow to establish the state of the art in a given field at a given time.
