RESUMEN
O objetivo da presente pesquisa foi verificar a opinião dos responsáveis de academias, clínicas e hospital sobre a inserção do Profissional de Educação Física (PEF) no processo de reabilitação musculoesquelética. A pesquisa foi aprovada pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz (protocolo nº201/08). Selecionados por conveniência, 17 chefes de estabelecimentos privados da área da saúde da cidade de Itabuna-BA (nove fisioterapeutas, sete PEF e um médico) participaram de uma entrevista semi-estruturada contendo perguntas abertas e fechadas. Os voluntários tiveram que assinar o Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido, sendo excluídos àqueles que não aceitaram participar e os locais em que não foi possível estabelecer contato com os responsáveis. As entrevistas foram gravadas (gravador áudio digital Sony PCM-D50) e os dados coletados foram analisados descritivamente, por meio da técnica de Análise de Conteúdo Temático. Os resultados mostraram que a maioria das respostas dos participantes da pesquisa continha elementos favoráveis à participação do PEF nas equipes multidisciplinares de reabilitação musculoesquelética. Entretanto, esses profissionais ainda não foram absorvidos de forma geral por tais equipes, tornando a realidade mais teórica do que prática. Por outro lado, parece que alguns PEF não têm conhecimento sobre a legislação da própria profissão, relatando que a reabilitação musculoesquelética compete exclusivamente ao fisioterapeuta. Por fim, na visão dos entrevistados, o PEF tem um importante papel a ser desempenhado na área da saúde e no processo de reabilitação musculoesquelética, potencializando muito o trabalho da equipe multidisciplinar, consolidando este profissional em mais um campo de atuação.
The aim of this study was to verify the opinion of the heads of academies, clinics and hospitals about the insertion of Physical Education Professional (PEP) in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. This study was approved by the Ethics in Research of Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz (protocol 201/08). Selected for convenience, 17 heads of private institutions in the health area of the city of Itabuna-BA (nine physiotherapists, seven PEP and a doctor) took part in a semi-structured interview containing open and closed questions. The volunteers had to sign an consent agreement, excluding those that refused to participate and the places where we could not establish contact with those responsible. The interviews were recorded (Sony Digital Audio Recorder PCM-D50) and the collected data were analyzed descriptively, using the technique of thematic content analysis. The results showed that the majority of answers of survey participants contained favorable elements to the participation of PEP in musculoskeletal rehabilitation multidisciplinary teams, however, these professionals have not yet been absorbed for all health teams, making the reality more theoretical than practical. On the other hand, it seems that some PEF have no knowledge about the law profession itself, reporting that it is solely for musculoskeletal rehabilitation physiotherapist. Finally, in the view of respondents, the PEF has an important role to play in health and musculoskeletal rehabilitation process, increasing much the work of the multidisciplinary team, building a more professional in this .
