Thirty patients' benign symptomatic non-functioning kidneys were subjected to laparoscopic nephrectomy. The procedure is associated with igh success rate [90%], low morbidity rate, a brief convalescence and no mortality. Hospital stay ranged from 2 to 12 days with a mean of 2.5 days. One patient with a hydronephrotic ectopic kidney was included in the series. One major operative complication was due to iatrogenic colon perforation
