RESUMEN
Protein C, protein S, and antithrombin III were evaluated in plasma of 15 patients with a history of severe recurrent thromboembolic disease and 15 normal controls to determine if plasma deficiency of any of these patients may account for observed disease. A highly significant decrease in the level of protein C and protein S was observed, [P < 0.001] while antithrombin III showed a non significant change compared with the normal control group

Coagulación SanguíneaRESUMEN
The levels of serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine and cholinesterase in the brain of adult male albino rats injected intraperitoneally with Diazepam [10 mg/kg body weight, valium, Rochi] were studied after one and twelve hours post injectin. Diazepam exerted no significant change in brain cholinestrase activity, while a highly significant increase in brain serotonin [5 HT], dopamine and norepinephrine activities in male albino rats one hour after injection, was recorded, 36.9%, 30.9%, and 43.3% respectively, P < 0.001 such increased levels have been restored to normal levels twelve hours after administration

This study was carried out on a total number of forty individuals. Thirty prositive blood culture acute enteric fever cases were studied. The control group constituted ten normal subjects of matching age. The following laboratory investigations were carrried out Hb%, total leucocytic count, serum albumin, plasma iron, zinc, copper and magnesium. These investigations were done on the patients group during their acute illness, then in convalescence period. Results showed a significant decrease in the Hb%, serum albumin, plasma zinc, iron and level of total leucocytric count while plasma copper and magnesium were significantly increased. These changes were markedly noticed during acute attack. During convalescence, all these changes return to normal levels
