RESUMEN
This work is reviewing articles on thymomas, and study of 34 patients with thymic tumours, from 1977-1987. Analysis of their symptoms, histopathological cell type, where 22/34 were epithelial, 4/34 patients underwent surgery, where complete excision [thymectomy] alone ws achieved in 17/34 cases, 10 of them were benign and 7 were malignant thymic tumours. Patients followed-up for periods ranging between 1.50-3 years. It was concluded from the study that surgery is the main line of treatments for benign lesions, while in malignant cases surgery and radiotherapy should be combined [as least dose of 4000 C. Gray post operatively], and dose of irradiation should be increased for cases with incomplete surgical excision. Chemotherapy as adjuvant therapy is still premature to assess its value in the present
