Introducción: Las prácticas preprofesionales constituyen actividades esenciales en la formación profesional médica. Permiten aplicar, en la práctica, los contenidos que se imparten en la docencia y favorecen el desarrollo de las habilidades investigativas, para enfrentar enfermedades como la diabetes mellitus. Objetivo: Argumentar las habilidades investigativas del estudiante de sexto año de medicina para el mejoramiento de la educación higiénico-terapéutica del paciente diabético desde su práctica preprofesional. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal aplicado a 80 estudiantes de sexto año de la carrera de Medicina durante su internado rotatorio por Medicina Interna en el Hospital Universitario Clínico Quirúrgico Comandante Faustino Pérez Hernández, en el primer semestre del curso académico 2023. Resultados: Se identificó un nivel bajo de habilidades investigativas en los estudiantes en relación con las habilidades docentes, asistenciales y administrativas propias del perfil del egresado. El nivel de conocimientos sobre diabetes en general fue aceptable, pero, en particular, se detectaron insuficiencias en el dominio de los contenidos de enseñanza en relación con la educación higiénico-terapéutica del paciente diabético. Conclusiones: Después de orientar el aprendizaje a los estudiantes, por medio del método investigativo, en correspondencia con la utilización del método clínico, se observó un ascenso en el dominio de estos conocimientos, reafirmándose así la importancia del desarrollo de las habilidades investigativas en el perfil docente-asistencial del estudiante desde su práctica preprofesional.
Introduction: Pre-professional practices are essential activities in medical professional training. They allow applying, in practice, the contents taught in teaching and promote the development of research skills to face diseases like diabetes mellitus. Objective: To discuss the investigative skills of the sixth-year medical student for the improvement of the hygienic-therapeutic education of the diabetic patient since their pre-professional practice Material and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out on 80 sixth-year medical students during their rotating internship in Internal Medicine at the Provincial Clinical Surgical Teaching Hospital Faustino Pérez in the first semester of the 2023 academic year. Results: A low level of research skills was identified in the students in relation to the teaching, care and administrative skills typical of the graduate's profile. The level of knowledge about diabetes in general was acceptable, but insufficiencies were detected in the mastery of teaching content in relation to hygienic-therapeutic education of diabetic patients. Conclusions: After guiding students' learning through the investigative method, in correspondence with the use of the clinical method, an increase in the mastery of this knowledge was observed, thus reaffirming the importance of the development of investigative skills in the teaching-care profile of the student since pre-professional practice.

Introducción: La obra de Fidel Ilizástigui Dupuy ha sido estudiada en su relación con la educación médica, sus aportes a la Didáctica y la conceptualización de la educación en el trabajo como forma de organización del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje; sin embargo, no han sido investigadas con profundidad las condiciones histórico-sociales que modelaron su pensamiento pedagógico. Objetivo: Determinar la influencia de estas condiciones histórico-sociales sobre el pensamiento pedagógico de Fidel Ilizástigui Dupuy. Material y Métodos: Esta es una investigación cualitativa de tipo biográfico. Se pudo acceder a documentos inéditos tales como actas de reuniones, epistolario y bocetos de artículos y discursos. Se revisaron artículos y libros publicados e impresos. Para la bibliografía activa y pasiva digitalizada publicada en revistas nacionales, se utilizó como buscador Google Académico. Desarrollo: En este artículo se delimitan las siguientes condiciones: entorno familiar, militancia comunista, formación bajo la tutoría del profesor Dr. Pedro Iglesias Betancourt, la Revolución Cubana, la Revolución Científico-Técnica y la interrelación con sus coetáneos. Conclusiones: Las condiciones histórico-sociales influyeron en Fidel Ilizástigui Dupuy y su interés por asumir la cultura de su época, sus valores y carácter, en su afán de cambiar la realidad de la educación médica que conoció, apoyado en un proceso de pensamiento y acción, contribuyeron a la modelar su pensamiento pedagógico.
Introduction: The work of Fidel Ilizástigui Dupuy has been studied in its relation with medical education, its contributions to didactics and the conceptualization of education at work as a form of organization of the teaching-learning process; However, the historical-social conditions that shaped his pedagogical thinking have not been thoroughly investigated. Objective: To determine the influence of these historical-social conditions on the pedagogical thinking of Fidel Ilizástigui Dupuy. Material and Methods: This is a qualitative biographical research. Unpublished documents such as minutes of meetings, epistolary and sketches of articles and speeches could be accessed. Published and printed articles and books were reviewed. For the active and passive digitized bibliography published in national magazines, it was used as a Google Scholar search engine. Development: This article outlines the following conditions: family environment, communist militancy, training under the mentorship of Dr. Pedro Iglesias Betancourt, the Cuban Revolution, the Scientific-Technical Revolution and the interrelation with his contemporaries. Conclusions: Historical and social conditions influenced Fidel Ilizástigui Dupuy and his interest in assuming the culture of his time, his values and character, in his eagerness to change the reality of medical education he knew, supported by a process of thought and action , Contributed to the modeling of their pedagogical thinking
