RESUMEN

Many reposts had suggested that copper and zinc may reflect diseases activity in lymphoma. Also, zinc helps in the function of WBCs in immune system. Whole blood samples were taken from 6 healthy donors and 10 patients suffering from different types of cancer. Serum copper and zinc were measured by using XRF method. Serum copper of cancer patients is higher than that of controls [P < 0.05] while serum zinc concentration is lower in patients than that of controls. Therefore, these two elements can be used as additional tests in diagnosis and managing cancer patients

RESUMEN

The concentration of calcium, iron and zinc have been determined in five specimens of human milk by using X-Ray fluorescence technique. Human milk was found rich in calcium content, and zinc is present in the amount needed by body, while iron content of milk was found less than that amount needed by infant. The accuracy of the analysis was checked by comparing with IAEA human milk [A-11] certified reference material. Cd-109 and Fe-55 radioisotopes sources were used for irradiation of samples

RESUMEN

Bronchoconstriction can be provoked by exercise and individuals are vary greatly in their response. Some people, in the absence of pharmacological protection, become symptomatic almost every time they exercise. The change in PEFR was recorded before and after exercise to 35 soccer players [13 seniors and 25 youth players]. There was no significant relationship in resting PEFR between senior and youth players. There were only two players found to have a reduction in PEFR equal or more than 15%. The give a prevalence rate of EIA of approximately 5.7%
