RESUMEN

Noise the undesired sound can be injurious or fatal to man if it exceeds certain intensity levels. Studies proved its destructive effects on the ear, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive and central nervous system. The degree and extension of damage is always proportionate to the intensity and duration of the offending noise. Ancient man was not the victim of high intensity noise, before the appearance of recent inventions and discoveries, hence was unaware of its injurious effects and when AI-Koran mentioned its use as a death penalty for the communities of Ad, Thamud and the peoples of Lut and Shu-aib, it was not accepted by the unbelievers and not well understood by the Moslems. Recent studies revealed that enormous blast noise is fatal to man, where immediate death can occur by rupture lungs, convulsions and cardiac arrest. This gives a good sound explanation to the Koran verses declaring the use of mighty blast as a death penalty to the ancient wrong doers communities
