RESUMEN
Urinary carcinoembryonic antigen [CEA]. Alphafetoprotein [A-FP] and human chronic gonadotrophins [HCG] levels were investigated in control healthy subjects [20 cases], bilharzial infested [20 cases] and bilharzial bladder cancer patients [20 cases]. [125]I-Radiommunassay method [RIA] was used for the estimation of the previously mentioned biochemical markers [CEA, -AFP and HCG]. The results of this work revealed tat very high levels of CEA [750-947%], alpha FP [246-500%] were found to be in bilharzial either they are in the stage of active bilharziasis or suffering from bladder carcinoma of bilharzial type. The present work also showed that bacteria which are very common in the urinary tract infection of bilharzial patients could possess high level of CEA, alpha FP and HCG [50% of the urinary level]. So, to use CEA alpha FP as early detectors and good diagnostic tools for bladder carcinoma of bilharizal type, a precaution must to take to use sterile midstream urine sample for that purpose
