Simple closure of perforted peptic ulcer with addition to helico bacter pylori eradication

The aim of this study was to evaluate the value of adding H. pylori antagonist to simple closure of the perforated ulcer. The study retrospectively analyzed 32 patients with perforated peptic ulcer treated by simple closure and postoperative Helicobacter pylori antagonist. Intraoperative biopsy from the edge of the ulcer revealed +ve infestation to H. pylori in all cases. Two patients had malignant ulcer proved by histopathology and were excluded from this study. The average age was 48.8 years. All patients presented within 24 hours after perforation but four patients were in shock. The morbidity rate was 0%. Three months postoperatively upper GIT endoscopy revealed healing of the ulcer in all cases [100%]. Repair of femoral hernias with plug technique

The aim of this study was to evaluate the value of mesh plug in the repair of femoral hernias. It was carried out on 12 patients suffering from femoral hernia and were treated by femoral herniorrhaphy with plug repair. No single case of recurrence or other significant complication was encountered
