RESUMEN

The study was carried out at the C.C.U. of both the Main University and Al Moassat Hospitals in Alexandria. The sample comprised 60 patients diagnosed as first myocardial infarction to examine the effect of nursing intervention on regimen compliance for those patients. The sample was divided equally into control and experimental groups. Nursing intervention was implemented for the experimental group. Four tools were used for the study. They included Fletcher questionnaire, planned nursing intervention, health intervention scale and health behavior scale. "t" and "Z" tests were used to test the significance of the results at 5% level. The study proved the significance intervention increased patient's knowledge and improved their regimen compliance post myocardial infarction. It was recommended that patient teaching should be continued after discharge from hospital to increase the compliance
