Fulminate cryptococcal meningitis in an immunocompetent adult presenting as central neurogenic hyperventilation- a diagnostic challenge

Cryptococcus neoformans is known as an opportunistic infection in patients with HIV and other immuncompromised states. Occurrence of cryptococcal infection in immunocompetent individuals is rare.
